I have tried a lot of coffees and teas over the years, both in Ireland and while travelling, but this place genuinely stands out as having some of the best I have ever had. From the very first visit, it was clear that a lot of care goes into everything they do. The coffee is consistently excellent, perfectly balanced and never bitter, whether you order a classic flat white or something a little more indulgent. You can taste the quality of the beans and the skill behind the machine, which is surprisingly rare even in places that claim to be serious about coffee. The teas deserve just as much praise. The selection is thoughtful rather than overwhelming, and every cup is brewed properly, not rushed or oversteeped. It makes such a difference and turns a simple tea into something you actually look forward to drinking. The atmosphere is another big reason this place keeps me coming back. Tucked under the steps, it feels cosy, calm, and welcoming, like a small hidden gem you almost want to keep to yourself. It is the kind of place where you can slow down, have a real conversation, or just sit quietly and enjoy your drink. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, which adds so much to the experience. Nothing feels forced or pretentious. If you care about really good coffee, well made tea, and a warm atmosphere, this place is absolutely worth seeking out. It has quickly become my favourite spot.
I have visited Mind The Step twice. It was fully packed, but the atmosphere remained quiet and calm. I ordered the V60 filter coffee on each visit, though I was a bit disappointed as it lacked the fruity notes I expected from Colombia washed beans. Today, I also tried the raspberry cheesecake brownie to go with it. The staff are very friendly and the cozy vibe makes me want to come back again. However, laptop use is allowed on weekdays from 8a.m. to 5p.m.
We came across this café after eating dinner in a nearby restaurant and this café gives off a very calming and cozy vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered a hot chocolate and it’s my first time having it like in the photo. It was heavenly and I cannot wait to try the other options next time I come back!
Loved this cafe on our day trip to Dublin. Prices were very reasonable. Cute vibe. Had a cinnamon bun and chai both of which were lovely! Would definitely recommend the hot chocolate too!
New favourite? I think so. My friend and I met up here and got a hot chocolate and a quick bite to eat. I was expecting the regular hot chocolate pre-made but what we got was so much better. They made a proper chocolate block on a spoon served with a glass of warm, frothy milk and you get to stir it in. The taste was SO NICE. Definitely worth a try. Sausage roll was also delicious.
