Such a beautiful atmosphere, welcoming coffee shop to grab a coffee , amazing fresh and wholesome food. Would really recommend the Honey Truffle
A very beautiful cafe with a wide variety of sandwiches, pastries, desserts and coffees, excellent service, very welcoming, we enjoyed a cappuccino breakfast sandwich and double almond croissant, it was spectacular.
What happened to Honey Truffle? The food has gone completely downhill, cutting corners & low quality food. I have been ordering sandwiches from Honey Truffle for the last 4 years and today when I bought lunch, it’s like a different restaurant. The hot chocolate used to be handmade luxury hot chocolate with chocolate ganache cream. Now I’m paying the same price for powdered hot chocolate you can buy at any grocery store. The sandwiches as well. Low quality and less tasty. The bacon in the sandwich used to be delicious, now it’s just greasy and salty. The chicken? Used to be high quality juicy chicken breast and now it’s shredded salty chicken that’s flavorless. What happened?! I won’t be going back unfortunately and really sad to be loosing one of my favorite lunch spots in Dublin.
Prior to Nov 2025, Honey Truffle was one of the best cafes in Dublin. Phenomenal food, proudly displaying their long list of curated artisanal suppliers on a sign in the store and absolutely focused on quality with everything they made. At the beginning of November, they changed ownership. They changed the menu, getting rid of some of the best and most popular menu items, and significantly downgrading what others remained. Their artisanal suppliers: completely gone. Their ingredients are now Tesco-quality, and the taste of the food matches it. The sandwiches used to be the best or second-best in the city. Now, the once well-sourced bacon is essentially a cheap greasy rasher that you'd get from any gas station deli counter. The hot chocolate has changed from being actual luxury chocolate to a tub of off-brand powder. Their breads, vegetables, meats, everything on the menu is either completely gone or much, much worse. Shame on the new owners for taking such a wonderful establishment and running it into the ground to make a quick buck off its old reputation.
I’d seen the media buzz around the new ownership, and every time I walked past the place it was heaving. Finally gave it a go today and it absolutely delivered. Yes, there was a long queue… but they moved people through in just over five minutes. Operational excellence at its finest. The food looks fresh, the team are upbeat, and the only real challenge was decision-making. Which, to be honest, just gives me a perfect excuse to return — next time with my wife in tow. I went for the festive Christmas toasted sandwich on sourdough and it was nothing short of outstanding. Added a sausage roll (no regrets), an Americano, and a cookie for the road. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste the difference. Strong offering, sharp execution. I’ll be back.
