Weekday mornings are the quietest
My mother and I visited Copenhagen for the very first time in early December, and on our first morning there we happened to wonder into Harlo & Meyer. The ambience was appealing from the outside and we were searching for a purely Danish experience having heard about the famous pastries. The cinnamon bun did not dissapoint however the highlight of the morning was our encounter with our waiter Mark who was patient, kind, and very welcoming. When we asked for recommendations for dinner that evening, Mark explained that Harlo & Meyer had a lovely seasonal evening menu made with local produce, so after a day of exploring the Tivoli Gardens we returned to the restaurant for dinner. To our plesant surprise, Mark was there with a warm welcome, as well as another gentleman whom I presume was the manager. The service was fantastic, as were the Monkfish, Squid and Tartare dishes. The flavours were fresh, light and dynamic, yet they complimented one another beautifully. The Glogg was an absolute hit with my mother who rarely drinks by the way unless the beverage meets her high standards; Mark was attentive enough to serve it traditionally with the additional nuts and spices which she absolutely loved. Our every request was met with a smile from Mark, our glasses were never empty and the attention to detail from all parties was immaculate. The overall vibe to the night was very calm and relaxing. We left feeling very merry, satisfied and pleased that we had returned. Thank you Mark for being so kind to two strangers, and for the recommendation for the best Glogg in all of Denmark! Your aura is the kind that remains with us to this day, and one that adds to the wonderful memories that we created whilst we were in Copenhagen. There is a saying that it is not solely the sights that we see that make our travels but it is also the people that we meet!
The best tebirkes I had in Copenhagen. Super flaky, crisp, sweetness was not overloading but just right. It was perfection.
The bread and the pastries are to die for. The fluffiest cinnamon roll I have ever tried! I also had the omelette a bit spicy but delicious. The service was great. Definitely coming back!
Best French toast I ever had! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and good coffee. Bread was amazing as well.
High quality food service with excellent bread, sweet cake and good coffee. We had a wonderful veggie tarte and even better pan-fried fish on black rye bread. Loved it - served steaming hot! Our two service girls were extremely efficient, professional and respectful. Not pushy but observant. Place is a bit "cold" to our taste, but they definitely tried to build a perfect spot here. Fashionable Scandinavian wooden and simple lines. No Swedish or Victorian mash here.
