CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice

When we used to live abroad in Beijing more than 8 years ago, we discovered this milk tea place and loved it for the perfect amount of creaminess and strong tea flavor and sweetness. Since we moved back to the U.S., we have been disappointed by the few times we have tried milk tea at various shops there, with milk tea that has been watery and tasteless (and not creamy). We went to Taiwan a few weeks ago and were so excited to go to the origin and “land of Boba,” but we were so sorely disappointed when one after another, every single basic pearl milk tea tasted horribly bland and watery, from cheap mom and pop shops to fancy expensive gimmicky shops. We probably tried it 5-6 times and only the last one, at chatime in Taipei, was decent with enough tea flavor (but still lacked the creaminess). We saw a Coco in Keelung where we were staying but sadly ran out of time to try it. Now being in Hong Kong for a few days, I had to go make the trek to try it again, and like a previous reviewer, I was SO pleased to recognize the same creamy sweet tea flavor (you need to get the one made with milk powder, the original kind, not the fresh milk version, that one always lacks the creaminess)!!! I bought a few extra to bring back to the hotel to store in the fridge, for the next few days. 😆 Make sure to ask for NO ice (the first one I got, I asked for less ice, and they still gave me way too much ice). And honestly, I don’t even like the tapioca balls, so I got them without the balls (so just the coco milk tea). Wish it could recreate them at home, but am glad at least to have found a consistently decent Taiwan-style milk tea out there (no hate towards Hong Kong milk tea, that is delicious too!)!

😋 CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice Drinks ordered😋 1. Lemon green tea 👧🏻🗣️ The price of each drinks are really cheap comparing to other restaurants in Hong Kong. The lemon is added from fresh lemon despite of using lemon juice. I’m really impressed by the quality and the size. 💰💲1️⃣9️⃣
