Nice-looking, unique and tasty desserts. Pleasant tea. Friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. It was a good idea to jump in on a winter day. A pleasant combination of sweet and fruity tartness in desserts. However, if you're like me and have a heightened sensitivity to sourness, be careful, as it can set on edge :)
This is a stylish little cafe just by Tivoli that is all about beautifully crafted cakes, refined presentation and a clear “treat yourself” feeling. The café sits at Vesterbrogade 3 with direct street access, so you get the Tivoli magic without having to enter the gardens themselves. The interior is classic and elegant with big windows, and it is a cozy stop for an afternoon break, especially around Tivoli’s seasonal time. The selection is where Cakenhagen really shines: delicate French-style pastries, classic Danish cream cakes, macarons and seasonal specialties made by in‑house pastry chefs. The cakes are often described as “small works of art” with precise flavors, and you can pair them with good coffee, tea or even a glass of champagne if you want something more festive. The staff was friendly and a pleasant experience, Prices are on the high side but still ok. The place is a good choice if you care more about nice pastries and a refined setting than budget‑friendly prices. For a celebratory coffee, a sweet pause during a Tivoli visit, it was good
Cakenhagen is an absolute delight! The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a stunning display of cakes and pastries that look like little works of art. Every bite tastes as incredible as it looks rich, balanced, and beautifully crafted. The staff are welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do, offering great recommendations and making you feel completely at home. Pair your dessert with one of their excellent coffees or teas, and you’ve got the perfect afternoon treat!
Pastry - The best danish pastry I have had (I picked the plum one! Coming by myself that I can’t eat the second piece, or I would have given the pistachio one a try!!) Staff - friendly, smiley and helpful Highly recommended!!
Very nice place with delicious tea and traditional Danish desserts - cream puffs. You order at the till and the waiter brings your order to the table. Conveniently located near the central station
