Staff in the cafe are very rude. Very rude. I have family in Copenhagen and usually visit a couple of times a year and always come to the Glyptotek cafe. I was very disappointed this time, and sadly won’t be visiting again. Waited 30 minutes in a cafe queue, ordered an espresso. When it came there was no water with it, so I asked for a small glass of water to have with my espresso. I was coldly told no and to join the end of the queue again if I wanted water. I explained that espresso needs water, just a small cup would be perfect. And again, ‘no, you will have to join the queue and buy it’… what sort of service is that! I work in heritage back in England and never would I dream of speaking to a visitor so coldly. I’m sorry but it’s just not okay.
#toast 549 — hidden inside the glyptoteket is picnic, the museum cafe right next to the museum gift shop. their foods are very lovely and it’s a great place to get afternoon tea while you’re here. You can also admire the art and the lovely displays while sitting here with your smorrebrod. Follow @nomkakaii on Instagram for more toast travels!
Rip off. Overly priced food. I got a salad with some green leaves and a couple halves of a potato and some yoghurt at the bottom. I don’t think these ingredients cost them much or took much time to throw together. Paid 186 DKK (25 EURO) for this and a cappucchino. When asking for a glass of water, they asked for another 10 DKK even though I already paid for food. I find this extremely sad, because this is a cafe inside of a museum. I think the museum (being an institution that showcases art that is available to the public) should get a cafe here that is a bit more economically inclusive and isn’t pretending to be a fancy restaurant.
Stopped here for lunch after exploring the beautiful Glyptoteket museum. The cafe is situated in the beautiful winter garden surrounded by greenery and sunshine filtering through which was so peaceful. I ordered the cheese and jam bun whilst my wife got the scone and we both also got chilled water. Service was quick and food was delicious but the stand out was definitely the water. perfectly iced and containing the perfect ratio of lemon, it was the best water I’ve ever tasted in my life!! - if it wasn’t so expensive I’d for sure be drinking it by the litre 🤣
This cafe deserves 10 stars! It is without contest the best food I've ever had in a museum - but it is incredible in its own right. Our food was freshly prepared and every single dish we ordered was unique and so flavorful. I would absolutely eat here again. It was in line with dining out in Copenhagan, and while fairly pricy, I felt that it was fair for the high quality of food we received. The ambiance was wonderful too, it's open to the central atrium full of palm trees and statues. Highly recommend!
