Old-world bookstore with a relaxed cafe cooking standard fare with organic ingredients....
Popped in on a freezing-cold day for a snack and warm-up. The space was mostly filled with people studying or working, with a few talking over coffee, so the vibe works for both. I had a hot chocolate and cheesecake, though I cannot recall exactly what type it was, both were tasty - the cheesecake slice was devoured in seconds, being very late and airy while being chocolatey sweet. I think if I was to return, it would be more likely to study than to meet a friend.
Had cake and coffee here. The atmosphere was very cozy, especially with all the books—it’s a really nice place to sit and relax. The cakes were delicious. The filter coffee was okay, nothing special. Unfortunately, the toilets were a big downside. There are only two, and one was completely unusable while the other was quite dirty. We informed the staff, but it didn’t seem to be taken seriously.
Best burger i have ever eaten. So delicious, home made and premium. The environment is so cozy and soft. The beer is top notch as well and the service is quick!
Beautiful setting for a cafe. The walls were lined with old volumes. We didn’t eat, as the only vegan option was a chickpea curry, and nothing else. A pint and a warm glass of white wine was £17! 😳
I think this place is much more overhyped that it really is. Food is excellent, that's 5 stars without a doubt. We had chili con carne and omelet and both were fantastic. On the other hand, we had to wait more than 15 minutes just to get to the counter. Many people come here to experience something which really isn't here, and they make such a huge crowd that the stuff just can cope with. Yes, it's a nice idea that you enjoy your coffee surrounded by books. But the books are not for even to touch, and the whole place feels rundown. It's okay if you want to have good food, but not recommended for the wibe or atmosphere.
