The best almond croissant I’ve ever had in my life, absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the staff were a bit inattentive and not very welcoming. The coffee was slightly bitter, though the latte art was beautiful. Overall, the pastry was outstanding, but the service and coffee could be improved. Unfortunately, they had sold out of the cardamom bun. We will definitely visit the other location as well and hope to have a more successful and better experience there.
Andersen & Maillard is a solid bakery overall. The quality is good, the presentation is beautiful, and it’s the kind of place that immediately catches your eye. Everything feels well thought out, and the experience is generally pleasant. However, the much-hyped pistachio cube didn’t quite win me over. While the texture was fine, the pistachio cream tasted somewhat artificial, missing that deep, natural pistachio flavor you’d expect. It leaned a bit too sweet and lacked the richness that makes a pistachio pastry truly memorable. Another downside is that there’s no real place to sit and enjoy the food. Without a comfortable spot to slow down, the experience feels rushed — more grab-and-go than indulgent, which takes away from what could otherwise be a more enjoyable moment. All in all, it was fine, but not a place I fell in love with.
Visited in Nov 2025 Did a daily visit to this outlet of Andersen & Maillard during my recent visit to CPH as it was near to the hotel I was staying at. Ended up having a few croissants across my visits, and my favourite was their pistachio croissant. Also tried the coffee here and I liked their flat white. Service is fast and efficient in-spite of the large number of ppl who just keeping coming in and queuing up. There is no seating inside this outlet. You can stand outside and have your coffee and baked goods. In the morning, an area across the road of this cafe has some benches & tabla which can be used by customers.
This was a popular little bakery right next to my Airbnb, and I wisely stopped by twice. It’s a small place — just enough room to grab your baked goods and coffee to go. My favorite was the toasted almond croissant: great texture, not too sweet, and a good size. The chocolate croissant wasn’t quite what I expected. in the U.S., they usually have a darker, more pasty-style chocolate inside, but here it was filled with gooey milk chocolate. Still good, just different. I also tried the cardamom pastry. Honestly, it wasn’t for me. The flavor was a bit too unusual. But everyone else seems to love it, so it’s worth a try. The coffee was standard, and the staff were friendly enough.
Very nice pastries, tried the pistachio cube, chocolate bun croissant and spandauer. The fillings were surprisingly good, more of a pudding side which was a nice twist. very fresh and crunchy. Honestly wouldn’t come back again but definitely worth trying
