Weekday mornings are the quietest
Baristro Chiang Mai is a beautiful café with a Zen garden concept and several seating zones to choose from. It’s quite popular, so it can be crowded, but the atmosphere is still pleasant. There’s an entrance fee, but it can be used as a discount for drinks and desserts, which feels fair. They also currently offer a wide selection of matcha, along with a good variety of drinks and desserts, making it a nice spot for café lovers. Parking is convenient with plenty of spaces available. It’s also a very photogenic place, popular with both Thai visitors and international travelers.
I have a suspicion that places like Baristro Asian Style are built mainly with the Instagram and influencer crowd in mind. Even so, it’s hard not to be impressed by this one. The entire place — the architecture, the garden, the layout — feels as if you’ve been transported straight to Japan. It’s a coffee and tea lounge that genuinely creates a sense of calm and serenity, and it’s a real pleasure to be there, at least when it’s not busy or overrun by people taking selfies. We were lucky on the day we visited and found it relatively quiet, which made the experience much more enjoyable. What ultimately matters, though, is that the coffee is good. A nicely made cappuccino for 85 baht, enjoyed in such beautiful and peaceful surroundings, makes this a worthwhile trip out of town.
This place is huge and features a beautiful Japanese-style garden. It was super crowded when I visited, likely because it coincided with the Chiang Mai University graduation. The crowd was a mix of teenagers and office workers, so it was quite bustling and not very peaceful. Luckily, my group managed to find a seat just in time! There is an 80 THB entrance fee, but you can use the ticket as a discount for food and drinks inside. The prices are standard for a cafe, and everything tasted good. The staff were friendly and provided great service. Since it was so busy, the drinks were served in order, so you might have to wait a bit. Overall, a lovely spot—just be prepared for the crowd on busy days!
We visited during the New Year holiday, so it was extremely crowded and the queues were quite long everywhere. There is an entrance fee of 80 THB, which can be redeemed for drinks inside. The café features beautiful Japanese-style architecture and a serene environment, making it very photogenic and perfect for taking pictures. The green tea tasted very authentic, with a rich and refined flavor, and the strawberry daifuku was excellent — soft, fresh, and truly delicious. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, especially for those who enjoy Japanese aesthetics and desserts.
Great environment, seats at indoor and outdoor. Salted caramel cheesecake is a surprise for me, salted caramel lava in the middle of the cheesecake. Macha crepe cake is nice too, not very sweet just nice. Macha is best to drink it when it is still warm. Black coconut, is espresso with coconut juice and fresh instead of coconut milk, maybe coconut milk is better, to provide a little bit of saltiness and sweetness and with the bitterness of espresso. It is good to come early in the morning if you would like to avoid the crowds.
