We walked 45 minutes to reach this place that was recommended to us, the strudels were good and reasonably priced compared to Downtown which is a ripoff place in every constellation!! But to be honest it wasn't worth the walk, if it had been near where we lived in the centre, it would've been worth the price !
One of the oldest traditional strudel shop. Definitely worth a visit for the Apple and apricot flavors with powdered sugar on top. Must eaten while warm otherwise it alters the texture and flavor. Our taxi driver, as a local, paid a visit after dropping us off 😄.
simple, humble, and full of character. Here, you can taste all the classic flavors, and every single one is absolutely delicious. The must-tries are cherry, apple, cottage cheese, and poppy seed. We even tried a savory cabbage one — yes, savory! We first ordered four flavors, but they were so good that we ended up going back for two more.
Walked a long way to come here and it was worth it! Their 2nd location closer to the city center was closed when we tried to go in May 2025. Here’s a list of what we got: Our favorites (would def come back just for these) Cabbage - 5/5 So delicious - we were lucky to get it when it came out fresh from the oven. So much flavor! Poppy seed and cherry - 5/5 def one of my favorites. The cherries were juicy but not wet and the poppy seed was so good! Some of our least favorites Apple - 3.5/5 apple desserts are not my favorite in general so I am biased there but thought it was a tiny bit too wet Cottage cheese dill - 3/5 was debating between the plain cottage and the cottage dill and the dill one was a bit too sweet. I think the plain one would be been a lot better
The best strudel I had for a very long time. Tried most of them. These strudels are absolutely delicious. I’m not a big fan of savoury strudels but even their cabbage version is quite nice. Cheese, sour cherry, plum, apricot, poppyseed, etc..they are all just yummy. Only had 3 in the shop but I took home 12 and they didn’t last long. The lady serving me was great. Hope I’ll be in Budapest soon and can have more of them, especially the sour cherry and the poppyseed one.
