A magical place to visit, especially in the depths of winter ❄️ with snow outside and a cozy, warm ambiance inside made up of teddy bears and collectables and lovely old furnishings. The hot chocolates were a beautiful taste and presentation - so many variables - I had a cherry 🍒 hot chocolate, beautifully presented. It does have an upstairs but we were seated downstairs and enjoyed all the sights from there! Lovely selection of otter foods as well. We’ll be back there as often as possible as we now live just up the road!
This is a MUST VISIT cafe in Budapest. Everything about this cafe (the decor, the drinks, the staff, the location, everything) contributes to a phenomenally cozy experience. My Irish Coffee was warm, pleasant, and decorated beautifully with foam and a light dusting of gold powder. My partner ordered a 75% cocoa hot chocolate with raspberry, and it looked like a work of art (and tasted even better!). We devoured our drinks so fast, but stayed for nearly 3 hours because we were tucked away in an adorable nook on the second floor playing chess. There were so many teddy bears everywhere, and every inch of every wall and corner was carefully curated to be as cute as possible. While we were getting ready to pay, the owner offered my partner and I a mini-sample of strawberry-hot chocolate and we had very pleasant conversation. We also asked if they had a business card, and our amazingly kind waitress gave us an adorable card with a stamp on it! Everyone that works here is so kind, and is what makes this cafe so amazing. Thank you for a perfect last night in Budapest, we will make sure to come back as soon as possible!
This café is truly incredible. The atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking — every detail comes together to create an experience that feels special and unforgettable. It’s not just a place to grab a hot chocolate, it’s a place you genuinely enjoy being in. No words could describe the taste!
This place is simply magnificent. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere had us enchanted; with the hundreds of teddy bears, the fairy lights, the amount of interesting clutter that you can pick up and interact with, and the vintage music that played in the café, this was a magical experience even based on the pure vibes alone. Then we received the hot chocolates we ordered and they elevated the experience even further. I asked one of the absolutely lovely staff members for advice regarding the exact ingredients of my drink and his suggestions resulted in me receiving an entirely unique experience. The hot-chocolate I got (white chocolate with spices, lavender-gin, and whipped cream) left me speechless, it was a one-of-a-kind drink that perfectly complemented the atmosphere of the café and made traveling across half the city more than worth it. Overall, Rengeteg is a wonderful place if you're looking for a cozy spot that warms up your body and soul while you chill out, have a tasty drink, perhaps grab one of the many little books or poetry collections lying around, and simply enjoy the vibes. We will be coming back sometime, that much is certain!
The most unique place in Budapest. The owner clearly takes pride in his café and every detail is taken care of carefully. From the decoration in the bathrooms, the teddy bears placed along the windows, the honey-scented soap inside of a container shaped as a bear, the "money for honey" written down in a bear can for tips....EVERYTHING screams "attention to detail". The jazzy music was perfect, making you feel relaxed and cozy. The owner is really kind and helpful and makes you feel like at home. And about the food....wow. I chose a white chocolate with coffee and oriental spices and I am still licking my fingers. And I'm not even a chocolate lover! I feel like this is one of the hidden gems in Budapest. A treasure.
