Cafe built in 1898 with high ceilings, huge mirrors & chandeliers, for coffee, cakes & light meals....
The place is nice even they could mantain the old style in a better way ( big screen in the main salon..) and the service a bit slow, it took 20 min before coming for the order. The cakes are good but not excelent.
I felt like royalty in there. Such nice cakes, amazing amount of choices of drinks, not too much food but we are here for the CAKES. Amazing atmosphere, not too crowded but could get in the right time I can imagine. Nice staff, and the CAKES. So fresh and so good! And how they show you on the screen how some of them are made is just a little something I didn’t know I needed in a cafe. Amazing!
This patisserie is an absolute delight! Established in 1898, its rich history is beautifully reflected in the elegant and classic interior design — truly a place that transports you back in time while offering modern comfort. The coffee is outstanding — rich, aromatic, and served just right. But the real stars are their artisan pastries and baked goods. Each piece is crafted with clear attention to detail, flavor, and presentation. From delicate cakes to buttery croissants, everything is simply delicious and of the highest quality. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine patisserie in a charming, historic setting.
In my opinion, when it comes to the design and atmosphere, there’s really no need for praise it’s a classic old design from 1898 that will definitely catch your eye. What mattered more to me, though, is that cafés with such a historic style, especially those popular with tourists, often don’t pay much attention to the quality of their pastries and drinks. Many times, tourists are so charmed by the beautiful setting that they don’t really focus on the quality Which, of course, is not a flaw it all depends on personal preference.. However, contrary to that expectation, the pastry and hot chocolate I ordered were truly good. The pistachio pastry was crisp with just the right amount of sweetness, and the hot chocolate was served at the right temperature with a well balanced chocolate flavor. The service was also fast and attentive.
As the café’s name suggests, they still have portraits of artists hanging on the walls. The interior is beautiful and they offer a wide selection of cakes that aren’t listed on the menu. Instead, you have to browse the spinning cake shelves and pick what you want, which makes for a fun little experience. The coffee tastes decent, nothing extraordinary, but good. The waitresses are helpful but aren’t the friendliest, but I get it, working in a fancy place probably makes them a little unapproachable.
