We had such a great time! The board game selection is incredible and super thoughtfully organized. They color-code the games depending on the number of players and the vibe you’re going for (Ex. “date night”), which makes choosing way easier. We went with one strategy game and one based on luck, and both were a total hit! We even want to buy one of the games we tried out tonight 🙊 The food is really good too 😌👌 We'll come back for sure!
Board game place, which finishes work at 22? That’s ridiculous. Let’s say, I finish work at 18, get there by 7pm. And, already, there is almost no a single more or less difficult game, we could finish on time with 3-4 friends. There are way better options to go in Budapest in terms of timing.
Mixed feelings about staff and quality of the food and drinks. I have been here twice and will review them here, even thought these were one year apart. - Depending on the staff, you might be treated 5/5, but if it is crowded it might be difficult to get hold of one of the people working there. - The games - that you can rent - quality fluctuates on their age and use, the more complex games are 100% quality, but the older ones and most used ones need an update for sure, although only a few have missing pieces etc. - The food is not good, small portion size, outdated and overpriced, even for downtown Budapest. I would not recommend ordering the nachos, it is an extremely small portion of nacho chips ONLY, sauce is EXTRA, even though you would think it would come with it? Who eats plain non seasoned nacho chips. - And now we come to the drinks. They are OK, but we have had at least 2 encounters were we ordered something, tasted 0% alcohol, went back to ask if they forgot to add the vodka, and 3 staff members started us telling us, that of course it has been added, we just can't feel it as we are "used to it", they would never make that mistake, why are we complaining. I asked if they could make us a new one and replace it, they refused heavily, I asked them to show the bottle they used to fill it up, they refused. All in all it is an OK place, but staff definitely need to improve and understand that the place does not exist without customers. This style would have been OK in the 90s, but in 2024 it's unexpected.
I've been visiting this board game café for a year now, loving it from the very first time! They're very helpful and correct with everything. Kind stuff. They offer club days every 2nd Saturday and quiz nights on Wednesday evenings. Look out for English speaking ones as well. They have heavier dishes and snacks too, just as nice drinks. I can only recommend to visit! 🙂
You should check in here for a good game! A friendly place, not too busy and crowded, where you can get out of the grid for a few hours. The food is average but plentyful, however this is not for dining, but playing! Tons of boardgames, cardgames, another stuff that you can do with friends. Don't come by car. Also drinks.
