Super cute local coffee shop with nice decorations, great coffee and desserts, not far from the touristic area at Buda castle, but far enough to not be crowded. Amazing find.
We had a bit of time to kill between finishing our walking tour of Castle Hill and our dinner reservation at Stand25. Google led me to Csészényi Café, which was super cute. It has a lot of old school decor and super cozy vibes. When we were there around 5pm, there was only one person working the entire cafe, which was very impressive. We all had a variation of coffee and hot chocolate and also a piece of plum pie. The pie was very good. The hot chocolate was also so good. I only had a few sips, since I had a coffee, but it was definitely good hot chocolate.
If you’re searching for a cozy spot that feels like a warm hug, this is the place to be! The atmosphere is simply amazing – a perfect blend of charm and comfort, making it the ideal retreat whether you’re on your own or with friends. The coffee here is nothing short of spectacular. Knowing they roast it in-house adds a whole new level of appreciation – every sip is rich, fresh, and crafted with care. And if you’re more of a hot chocolate fan, you’re in for a treat! Their hot chocolate is heavenly, with just the right balance of creamy sweetness and indulgence. P.S. Everyone has a day. Today, the guy behind the counter wasn’t smiling. We hope he feels better soon – sending positive vibes his way! This place isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or someone who loves a delightful space to unwind, this gem deserves every bit of praise. Can’t wait to return!
If I lived in this neighborhood I would be here almost every day. The atmosphere alone is worth just spending time at Csészényi - the interesting artwork and antiques, the amazing coffeemaker wall. Normally I am all about the music as part of a cafe atmosphere but not having it here merely lends itself to creating a space that meanders between silent study and vibrant conversation. I originally chose to stop in here because someone had mentioned the hot chocolate (which my nine-year-old still says is the best!) but my husband loved the coffee and ordering a green tea brought a big steaming mug of hot water diffusing a delicious loose-leaf sachet. Between the sweet dog keeping his owner company while he worked, to the two older Hungarian gents having a lively conversation, the noise of the coffee grinder, and the winter light streaming through the windows, it was any wonder we stopped back again before we left.
🕰️It was the cheapest coffee I've ever had in Budapest and the owner was very welcoming! Good service! ⏳The coffee shop vibe of very good and there are many old antiques! 🪑The location of the store is also good! 🫶🏻☕️ 💳Credit card support! 👌🏻 🅿️The transportation is also very convenient!
