Bright, traditional cafe with mirrors & wood-backed furniture, for cakes, breakfast & lunch....
A great traditional cafe which somehow made us feel nostalgic for past times. We visited Auguszt Cukraszada twice during our stay in Budapest because of its old-school interior, pleasant atmosphere and outstanding cakes and coffee. Last but not list, the ladies that work there are genuinely polite and helpful. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
One of the most welcoming and helpful staff I've come across in Budapest. The atmosphere was great, the staff were warm and welcoming. They were kind enough to go through all the different pastry names for me in English, no one's done that yet. Although I reached close to the cafe closing they were quite accomodating. I tried only one pastry, it's my new favourite and totaly worth it. I would definitely visit again! Thank you!
An exceptionally pleasant and cozy patisserie. The interior is impressive, as can be seen in the videos. The lady who served us was very kind and friendly, and the Dobos and Eszterházy cakes we tried were delicious and light. It is definitely worth a visit.
The cream cake, coffee and hot chocolate were top notch. The staff was lovely, quick and efficient. Seating arrangements and the atmosphere in the cafe were some of the best we've seen in the city. Hightly recommend having coffee or dessert here.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true Budapest gem! Auguszt is not just a café – it’s a piece of Hungarian history served on a plate. Every bite feels like a journey through generations of craftsmanship and tradition. We tried the Dobos torte, the Krémes, and a savory quiche – all absolutely outstanding. The Dobos was rich yet perfectly balanced, the Krémes was light and heavenly, and even the salad next to the quiche was fresh and flavorful. The coffee was excellent too. The atmosphere is elegant but warm, with a real sense of family heritage. You can feel the pride and love that go into every pastry. Unlike the touristy cafés around the city, this one feels authentic, calm, and genuinely Hungarian. If you want to experience the soul of Budapest’s pastry culture – this is the place. Highly recommended!
