Shabby-chic cafe with an eco-conscious focus, offering cakes & plentiful vegan options....
After living in the area for a while, I finally visited Tischendorf this morning and I loved it. Easily one of the best coffees around, and the food was great too! The sandwich I had was super tasty, and everything was really fresh. But the most important thing for me in a café is the energy you get from the staff, and they nailed it here! The barista was super welcoming and had a genuinely charming smile that somehow made the coffee even better. :) Definitely recommending this spot to anyone craving a great breakfast and a really good cappuccino!!
The food here is great, but the employees are very unfriendly. Every time I come I need to wait for about 5 minutes while someone at the front avoids eye contact and pretends I don’t exist to the best of their ability while rearranging cutlery or making drinks as slowly as possible. I feel like I’m inconveniencing them by existing and trying to spend money at their workplace. The food always made the uncomfortable wait worth it until last time I was here, when the barista ignored me for the mandatory 5 minutes. But after that, one of the people blocking the bar while talking to her friends revealed herself to also be an employee and not just a clueless customer. She got up and delivered one plate of food that had been sitting there for 5 minutes and then resumed talking to her friends and ignoring me. The barista at the front continued to pretend I don’t exist while making the most painstaking 2 lattes I have ever seen. This was too much and I left. I had no idea how they are still in business when they show such disdain for their customers. The place was not even that busy! If someone had just looked up at me and said it would take a minute I would not have minded. But being completely ignored really bothers me. It’s a shame the customer service is so bad when whoever works in the kitchen is clearly skilled and passionate. The dishes are always delicious and beautiful.
We had breakfast here. The place is in a quiet neighborhood, serving good breakfast. We had the poached eggs and the muesli. The prices were fair and the food was nicely prepared and delicious.
highly recommend the banana bread with ricotta and honey! friendly staff, a cozy atmosphere with good coffee and good food
I came here alone on a weekday for brunch. I tried the French toast with ricotta, poached pear, granola, and berries, along with a warm latte. Both the coffee and the French toast were quite decent. But more than anything, the atmosphere of the café is truly cozy. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some quiet time :)
