Weekday mornings are the quietest
Sirene is my favourite breakfast spot in Berlin — a place I keep returning to because the food, atmosphere, and overall experience are always consistently great. The menu is simple but extremely well done. My favourites are the scrambled eggs, and the avocado and mushroom toasts — always generous, balanced, and full of flavour. One thing I really appreciate is the bread: it’s always fresh, traditional, and high-quality. No sweet, soft, American-style toast — just proper bread. I don’t drink coffee, but I genuinely enjoy how seriously they treat tea here. It’s served in a large pot with a proper cup. The atmosphere is very good. The service is friendly but never overwhelming — they give you space, but whenever you need something, they genuinely do their best. Weekends tend to be busy and full, while weekdays are a bit calmer, making it a comfortable place to stop by for breakfast or brunch or a relaxed afternoon snack and tea. The outdoor seating is lovely on sunny days and definitely one of the nicest corners of Prenzlauer Berg to start the morning. If you’re looking for great breakfast and food made with real care, Sirene is a true neighbourhood gem. Highly recommended!
Lovely small place. It is simple and homey. The food we had was simple and sooo delicious. The seasoning was on point. I ordered “Turkish eggs” and was surprised how good it was, and again the seasoning was delightful. Decently would recommend. If you can, you should make a reservation.
Great breakfast in Berlin! The eggs benedict with hollandaise sauce were delicious. I usually prefer the old version with sourdough bread, but the brioche one was a really nice surprise!
Ordered the eggs Benedict and was alarmed with how much hollandaise sauce there was. It was almost inedible - I spent half the time scooping the sauce out of the dish, and ended up not being able to enjoy my breakfast. The Chai tea also lacked any flavour and tasted like just milk. I asked the waiter to make it stronger or let it steep longer but he returned my drink without any noticeable difference. Shame as it’s a lovely place and atmosphere but luckily there are many more brunch spots in the area. Hopefully the competition pressures the owners to up their game!
Overall, an okay place to get breakfast, although the flavour profile of some dishes needs improvement. The shakshouka lacked seasoning, and the eggs were quite watery with no flavour. The Turkish eggs had one overwhelming note: garlic — and a lot of it. We’re huge garlic fans, but when it tastes like puréed garlic, that’s where we draw the line. The sourdough bread served with the eggs was stale and didn’t taste fresh. While the presentation of the food is excellent, the seasoning needs serious work. The staff is friendly, but they don’t speak any German.
