Casual eatery with an outdoor patio serving hearty German staples & desserts plus coffee & beer....
We really liked the area and its interior. The first time we sat down for coffee. The second evening for dinner. German cuisine (e.g. Berlin schnitzel) and more. Very fast and polite service. The food was very good. 2 people paid (along with 2 large glasses of beer) about 50 euros. We would happily go again.
Very nice staff - Laba was very kind and polite. Definitely recommend for breakfast!
Picked this restaurant because it looked nice and the menu sounded good. Should have checked the reviews before ordering… big mistake! Had the worst schnitzel I’ve ever tasted in my three decades of travel in Germany and Austria. Breading was greasy, and the meat was very tough. I complained to the server, who was very nice and apologetic, but only offered a free dessert as compensation. I expected the chef to come to the table to ask why I hardly touched my meal, but judging from the other reviews here the owners of this restaurant don’t place a high value on customer satisfaction. For the prices charged, customers deserve much better.
I stumbled upon the place while walking through the city. For context, I do not speak German but I've worked in hospitality for over a decade. They are understaffed and the one server was clearly overwhelmed and newer. I had just ordered a glass of white wine and a bratwurst. When it came to the bill, they were basically arguing with me about payment and items. This only occurred because the other server who wasn't serving me was helping close the bill. In the end I paid cash, they have something on their menu about how they only take German credit card. No problem with that, I did read that before I sat down and ordered. I get people get frustrated and overwhelmed but I had actually just wanted another drink (just a glass) not my bill. And again the original server placed the wrong thing on my bill and then tried to charge me for it. I know I saw a male manager walking around to the other groups. Please help and train your team better.
I was attracted to this restaurant by how beautiful the exterior was, looked really traditional. It’s a beautiful cozy restaurant, seemed pretty old like it had been passed down from generations. I loved it. In my opinion I doubt the menu is extensive. Well I came here for breakfast. I had English breakfast in my opinion it looked great but I don’t think it’s nice to serve baked beans and bread together close to each other on the same plate. It makes everything messy. For the same price, I’ve gotten larger English breakfast spreads. The coffee was cool. Card payment is allowed so that’s a good thing. I dislike pickles 🤭😬😣
