Friendly Society Berlin (Kulturkaufhaus)

Staying open until midnight, Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus is an ideal place to spend a late evening in Berlin if you need a spacious, clean public environment that feels safe and does not pressure you to consume. The building spans five floors including the basement, with a warm, inviting color palette throughout. The underground level is dedicated to music, while the first and second floors include well-curated English-language sections. The range of books and publications is broad and thoughtful, complemented by cultural merchandise, stationery, and souvenirs that feel considered rather than generic. I came in the basement, where I met a man playing singing bowls. We had a good conversation till the place closed.

Amazing bookstore with a huge choice of books, vinyl, board games etc. They also have a cozy cafe. I think I could spend the whole day here!

We visit this bookstore regularly. It is by far the best bookstore in Berlin. There is a large English literature section, a music section in the basement and a great stylish cafe with helpful staff. It is the same level as Foyles at Charing Cross in London

The most amazing bookstore I’ve ever been to. You can find anything and everything you desire, as long as it’s related to books, movies, music, media or culture in general. You can spend days in this store, and rarely get tired. The coffee shop and the restaurant are also worth mentioning because of their fast service and quality food. You owe it to yourself to visit this place at least once in your lifetime.

Hands down the best bookstore in Berlin. Everything is well organized from stationary to books. The atmosphere is so cozy, toilets are always clean. The music section is HUGE, I literally spent hours going through the CDs! If you are a book/music lover it's a must visit. You will not be disappointed!
