Excellent place, not only when visiting the Fotografiska Museum. A great option to read or relax with a nice cocktail. I haven’t tried the food yet.
Set inside the Tachelles development (primarily on the ground floor of the Fotografiska gallery) in the heart of Mitte. All I can say is to completely ignore the terrible rating here as this is primarily as a direct result of the low ratings given to the cafe by people wanting to make political statements about the gallery space and the ethos of this iconic building. Don't fall for it....Most of these people haven't even gone to visit the cafe! Ok. The review....its very good. Comfortable seating and fantastic service. Cappuccino is excellent as are the food options. Yes. It's relatively expensive, but this is Mitte. What can I say? The prices on the menu are pretty average around here. Only gripe is that you get ZERO reception on your phones so getting Internet in the cafe on your own data is pointless. You do need to link to the WiFi (which is free) but you need to relink every 30 minutes or so and that can be a little annoying. You think you are online waiting for a Whats App mesage and not realising that the WiFi has dropped out as you have got to the end of your alloted "time" and you need to relink. Can be very irritating and a very irrational rule as othewise, it's a perfect place for work... 1. Comfortable seating 2. Free wifi 3. Plenty of food and drinks on offer (alcohol or not) 4. Power sockets all over the bar ....and instead of encouraging this they seem to be doing the opposite with this WiFi!! I don't get it? Anyway. Maybe they change this in the future. This cafe would definitely warrant a 5* review if it wasn't for this WiFi issue but it's so irritating to me I had to take it into account.
An excellent rooftop bar. We were seated without a reservation. The prices are a bit higher than in the area, but it’s worth it. The rooftop offers a beautiful view of Mitte. Good service.
what an awful experience. they served a popcorn stored from a jar we bet it was waiting there 3 months. the place needs a food safety control. also the people neither experienced nor kind. we asked for “kiba”, simple banana juice and kirche. they told us “we dont know that, its not in the menu. if u want more ‘advanced’ cocktails we should go somewhere else.”…… really? the atmosphere is great though. its full empty (no wonder why). so u can sit and chat easily
I love this place! If you want to experience a corner of Berlin where sophistication and art come together, come here. After visiting the exhibit, you can relax in this spot, where there’s a great selection of cocktails and wines, not to mention delicious food. I ordered an antipasti with prosciutto, salami and mortadella, and the quality is astonishing for the price. I paired it with a glass of orange wine, which was delightful. The focaccia they make is naturally leavened for a full 48 hours, and let me tell you, it’s an explosion of flavor. This place has become one of my favorite spots here in Berlin. Absolutely recommended.
