Coffee & beer in a cozy, bohemian hangout with stage lights & a graffiti-lined courtyard....
So glad we came across this bar. We came back every night on our trip to Berlin. Such a cool atmosphere and very sociable. Great selection of drinks and quick service. We also visited the cinema which was such a fun experience. You have to order at the bar and it’s cash only!! 🍻
I forgot to take a picture, I’m sorry! I went in through the smaller door in the side gallery, and I absolutely loved what I found inside. The music playing at that time was great and really matched the vibe of the place. I sat at the piano with my sister, we had a couple of drinks, and I just enjoyed seeing how relaxed and happy everyone seemed. I didn’t need to use the restroom, but maybe they charge for it because non-customers use it too—if that’s the case, I totally get it. They have no way of knowing who’s a customer. The girl making the drinks and the guy who charged us—especially him—were really kind to us. I wanted to go back to the café but didn’t have time. Next time I’m in Paris, I’ll definitely come back. Thanks for such a lovely experience!
Imagine a place that opened its doors for the very first time the day before the Wall came down. That place is Café Cinema. It’s no longer an insider tip, and it has lost some of its charm since you now have to get your drinks yourself at the bar. Still, with its typical cinema-style interior and dark atmosphere, it remains somehow unmistakably Berlin
Lovely place, very atmospheric and perfect for lovers of vintage. You order at the bar, so not much to say about the service, but the coffee and pastries we had were good. The music and decor is what makes this place special.
I went to Café Cinema in Berlin at night with a friend, and we just used the bar. It’s on Rosenthaler Straße 39 in Mitte. Inside it’s dark and cosy, with old cinema posters on the wall and a bit of a mismatched look. Out back there’s a courtyard with string lights that feel almost magical, like something out of *A Midsummer Night’s Dream*. The drinks were decent and fairly priced, though the service was a little slow. One thing to be aware of is a Ghanaian man who charges you to use the toilet. Overall, it’s a quirky spot for a drink at night.
