Valor Chocolates

Our guest from Barcelona (we have a holiday apartment) recommend this lovely place! HOT CHOCOLATE and Churros. And is delicious!

Very good, decently sized and fluffy churros with various chocolate dips, If you are a churros enjoyer I highly suggest you to try this place, near the Cathedral zone.

We were here on 24th December morning - had an amazing hot chocolate with churros, which warmed our tummies after a chill weather outside. There few grandparents with their grandchildren in here - was so lovely seeing them! Also bought hot chocolate powder to try it home.

For the many times I’ve come here, I notice the change in taste as for the masa of the porras. Hot chocolate is good, thick and rich. Whipped cream is good also but maybe not made by themselves, maybe from a can? I kept coming back here because their first impression lasted, it was really good I had to come back. It’s a bit congested inside. Small space. They have a bathroom inside for the clients. Staff is very formal. Polite, yes. But no smiles.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I was extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, this place doesn’t have much to do with the original Chocolatería Valor from Valencia. I arrived at 5pm (which in Spain is a completely normal time to eat churros). They were closing at 6pm but had already started putting away tables & mopping the floor. It took them 5 min to get my order because they were mopping the floor. The atmosphere was extremely unwelcoming because most tables couldn’t be used anymore and it seemed obvious the workers just wanted to finish their shift and get out of there. Later a few more people came in and we all had to crowd on one side of the café while the other side was completely empty and mopped. To top it off the churros were pretty bad, at least the hot chocolate was good. All in all a disappointment. :(
