Tostaderos Bon Mercat

Tostaderos Bon Mercat is one of those Barcelona coffee shops you’re genuinely happy to stumble into. The smell of freshly roasted nuts and coffee is incredible, and everything they sell tastes just as good as it smells. Their selection of coffee is outstanding—super fresh, high quality, and priced fairly. The staff is warm, patient, and clearly knows their products, always ready with great recommendations. Whether you’re stocking up on snacks, grabbing gifts, or just exploring local shops, this place is a must-stop. A true neighborhood gem in Barcelona.

What a great breakfast spot we found in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. The server was very warm and attentive even despite the busy morning rush. They have excellent coffee! We paired it with a chocolate croissant and a goat cheese and tomato sandwich—perfecto! Locals were in and out as we dined in, so you know it is the place to be. Be decisive and intentional when ordering. The place could get cramped in the morning and during merienda (afternoon break), but they also have a takeaway counter.

I don't drink coffee, but I gave this place 5 stars. Their hot chocolate is amazing, I loved it! A friend of mine, a coffee drinker, was delighted by the espresso.

One of the most talked about places in Barcelona when it comes to coffee, it justifies itself and its status. In such a touristy place you would expect it to lose its identity, but when you see locals coming to buy their coffee there, you realize that they are probably in a different league. And when I say buy their coffee, I am of course talking about the fresh coffee beans that are on sale in a variety of flavors and from around the world. This small place can't accommodate many people, but there is real magic here. There are all the machines there, coffee is delicious, the smell of coffee is there, and overall, reasonable service. Highly recommended.

I would rate this place 6 stars if I could. The coffee drinks are amazing, especially the dark chocolate mocha. They have an actual roasting machine, and you can purchase fresh beans by the kg. They have coffee varieties from all over the world, and the place smells amazing. Both times I went, it was very crowded. There are only a few tables inside, and no outside tables, so be patient or take-away. Best coffee I had in Spain no question. The owners speak/understand English, and they were very fun to talk to.
