A small restaurant with great food, and staff who seem to like what he is doing, either cooking or hosting. A bit un-ordinary and mostly different from Catalan restaurants. We had fried Suppli which was a perfect crunchy bite. We then had a wonderful lamb empanada, followed by a perfection of a beetroot/remulacha and cheese salad. The Parmenier of beef was very fine and tasty, although I would have put less salt in it. Unfortunately, we could not deal with the Broccoli Pizetta, which was too much at that point, but we did not skip the dessert of a very good and soft chocolate cake, accompanied with an interesting cream, which lime zest was grinded into it and made a perfect interesting twist. Mama Gorda definitly worse a visit.
Mama Gorda stands out as a culinary highlights of Barcelona. The moment you step inside, the attention to detail in the decor is striking. From the curated posters and stylish bookshelves, down to the unique plates, itβs clear that significant thought and care went into creating a distinctive atmosphere. The food is equally impressive. While the portion might seem modest by American standards, they are expertly crafted and packed with flavor. The diverse clientele of both locals and tourist add to the vibrant, authentic experience. Itβs a place definitely worth booking for my next visit in town.
Amazing dishes that are made with love and lots of flavour. The restaurant has a really relaxed atmosphere with a great wine list. There is a selection of small and larger plates and they come out when they are ready but they do not overwhelm or rush you. The highlighted have to be the miso butter which they pair with amazing focaccia and the gyozas filled with pork belly and served on an amazing sauce that I could put with every meal.
Came here last week while in Barcelona for the Ceviche sandwich, and ended up loving everything I ordered! The food was incredible, and the staff were so warm, welcoming, and helpful with explaining the dishes and wine. Their energy made the whole experience even better. Canβt wait to come back and try more next time Iβm in the city!
Both guys serving are very sweet π¬ and welcoming. The place is small but decorated so nicely. I liked all the stickers, posters and painting. I liked the music, the vibe, suaveee. They prepare everything in the moment, the buns, the ingredients, everything is delicious.
