La Farigola

Escola La Farigola de Vallcarca is a public primary and infant school located in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. With over 100 years of history, the school is known for its educational approach that fosters curiosity and meaningful learning through integrated projects. The school employs a blended learning methodology that combines project-based learning with open learning spaces. They focus on students' motivations and interests to connect different curricular areas. Catalan is the language of instruction, with Spanish and a foreign language also taught. They participate in the "More Sustainable Schools" program. Recently, projects have been launched to improve and naturalize the playgrounds, transforming them into climate shelters and spaces for active play. The Parents' Association (AFA Farigola) is very active in managing school services and school life. They have a school cafeteria with its own kitchen. The Farigola Parents' Association (AFA) in Vallcarca organizes various extracurricular activities and manages scholarships for summer programs. The school participates in the neighborhood's open playground program on weekends (currently active on Sundays). School Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

School with good facilities and active teaching staff.

We were new to the neighborhood and started last year in 1st grade. In La Farigola we found what we were looking for, a small school, where everyone knows each other, close and familiar. And with a park next door where every afternoon the games, the talks continue and where young, old and older mix sharing experiences. This school year there is a new team in the management and so far we are very happy with the teachers, the activities and all the proposals! And we really like that every week they spend some time in the Turull forest, learning about nature and taking care of the garden, and seeing their faces when one day they bring some vegetables for dinner says it all! In summary: good atmosphere, teachers, parents with enthusiasm and children who go there happy every day. A school that we recommend 100%!!!
