Weekday mornings are the quietest
The current waitress keeps the entrance doors closed, so you can't get in from the street. Today she even closed the gates, and you couldn't even get in from the garden. It seems she's bothered by the customers.
We go often and it never happens to us, but there is a waitress (the one who was there today) who at 7:20 pm tells you that they are closing and that you have to leave. If you ask her, she says that the place closes at 7:30 pm and that she closes at 8:00 pm. It is not true. The place closes at 8:00 pm. I would understand that when it gets closer to 8:00 pm they are picking up, but not at 7:20 pm and kicking you out at 7:30 pm.
The waitress Lily always serves with a smile, and for that reason alone I give the bar 5 stars
My name is Aleix Giner, and I've been a customer of Friends since its reopening. I go there for lunch, breakfast, and sometimes afternoon tea. It's a quiet and welcoming place, well-run by the company that manages it. However, as is often the case, the lack of a manager on-site to oversee the staff's work means they aren't up to par (a shame for the company), as sometimes customers are lost over small details. On October 20, 2022, at 6:15 PM, I went to study for a while in this peaceful place and ordered a coffee with milk and what I thought was a donut. I asked the waiter if they were donuts or another brand. He assured me they were donuts and that they weren't hard. I asked him to bring me one, but as soon as I bit into it, I noticed it was hard. Worse still, he deceived me by assuring me it was a donut. I returned it, and he again insisted it was a donut. He even offered me a croissant instead. My complaint is that I felt cheated. I will not stop... I'm going for this reason, but I want the company's management to be knowledgeable. I believe it's a reputable company and they work hard to maintain it. For me, Guzman was where I best learned to probe paraplegics when it was the old hospital, around 1972-1978, which is when I worked there to complete my Nursing and Optometry Diploma. I hope the company takes this as constructive criticism; you do good work, you just need to refine some details. Thank you very much.
The place is nice and the waiter is very friendly, but the menu is often not worth it. Today the peas were hard and the fish was chewy. Plus, they charged me 50 cents for a container to take my leftovers home. What a shame. I don't think I'll be eating there again.
