Had a minor operation here. Somehow my Dr messed up the appointment date but the lady at the admissions office made sure it still happened that day. Clinical staff was super friendly and made me feel at ease.

As an international student studying in Spain, at around 10 PM on January 12, 2025, I returned to the emergency department of this hospital due to sudden and severe abdominal pain. This was not my first visit here—I had already experienced the professional care of this hospital during a previous episode of facial allergies. But this time, at my most vulnerable and helpless moment, the compassion I received moved me deeply. Despite it being a late-night emergency, I was attended to almost without any waiting. I would like to extend my special thanks to the doctor on duty that night, whose professionalism and attentiveness led to swift and necessary examinations after a detailed assessment. I am equally grateful to all the nurses on shift—due to the severity of my pain and difficulty moving, they gently and patiently accompanied me in a wheelchair to and from the examination rooms, constantly reassuring me along the way. What touched me the most was that, despite the language barrier, every medical staff member I encountered—from the doctor to each nurse—made every effort to communicate with me patiently, ensuring I understood each step of the process. This kindness that transcended language made me feel deeply comforted while being ill far from home. Living abroad alone, one often feels most lonely and vulnerable when falling ill. Yet, on the night of January 12, the doctor and medical staff on duty provided me with the most timely and warmest care through their professionalism, efficiency, and compassion. Here, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude and highest praise to all the medical staff who were on duty that night. Your dedication has shown me the most beautiful embodiment of medical humanity.

I had fibroid removal surgery here and every staff member was amazing! All the nurses were friendly and welcoming, I don't speak Spanish but everyone was nice to me and made an effort to speak English. I had two nurses helping me at all times, they were never understaffed and were patient, supportive and caring. I only stayed one night, but from beginning to the end I had an amazing visit and I'm healing really well. I wish I knew every single nurse's name, but you are all working so hard and made me feel comfortable and happy. Thank you team!!!!!

I gave birth at Hospital El Pilar, and it was a wonderful experience for our whole family. I had been seeing Dr. Torrejón throughout my pregnancy and had a scheduled C-section at El Pilar due to some personal risk factors. Both Dr. Torrejón and Maria Antonia were amazing — always available to support me and answer any questions during the pregnancy. Their calmness and professionalism were incredibly reassuring during the procedure. The entire team in the operating room was excellent, and the whole process went smoothly — it truly felt like an easy journey for me. During my five-day stay at the hospital, all the medical staff was kind, attentive, and always willing to help with any questions or needs we had. And as many other reviews mentioned — I can confirm that the food is indeed very good! Overall, my pregnancy and birth experience at Hospital El Pilar were extremely positive and pleasant. Avoid at all costs. Waited 1.5 hours to get an ecografía with a prior appointment and only managed to get in because we complained to the secretary desk as we watched patient after patient go in before us. There is a crucial failure in their system and there is bad communication between the technicians and the secretarial team. The only explanation was "You're not on our list." And that was from the technician. And of course we're paying to park in the garage and that's not being comped. Appointment was at 11:30 Went in at 13:00
