Weekday mornings are the quietest
We came here sunday morning. The place is lovely, the staff is kind, the food was good, fair price, wide selection of breakfast.
We got a hot chocolate, croisant, chicken salad, and ham and cheese sandwhich. The hot chocolate was really bad. It looks so thick but somehow tasted water and bland. The croisant was dense and not very flaky. The salad was fine just not great
had a pleasant visit at this cafe. the coffe and orange juice were great! and to to top it up, their pastries were delicious!! not too sweet… they were perfectly to my liking :) overall, we enjoyed our breakfast at this place!
The aesthetics of this place are very European, something that i am attracted to. You have a nice street view, i opted to seat inside as it had air conditioning. I did not try the bakery but im sure it tastes the same as its looks. many spanish people come here so i assume its a traditional Catalan cafe. Regarding service, i ordered an ice americano but i guess the language barriers misinformed staff and they actually did an americano with a glass of ice. no problems though coffee was still great!
I don't know why this place has such poor reviews! We came here for breakfast on our 2nd morning in Barcelona and love it so much that we ate at different El Fornet throughout our trip. Coffee is extremely important to us and we are also very particular about our coffees. The cappuccino here was really good and the pastries were delicious. Staffs were friendly too even though they spoke little English.
