This is such a unique and amazing place. They have a very wide range of cacao offerings. We have not seen this anywhere else in the world. They offer everything from super bitter cacao to super sweet cacao and in between. Give them a try, and you will see and feel and taste the true offering of a cacao bean.
One of the best hot chocolates that I had in Spain, not to thick and bitter but also not watery like American hot chocolate. I went for 70% Ecuadorian chocolate with toasted marshmallow and cream. The barista warned me it would be too sweet as the marshmallow is quite sweet and she was right but I loved it nonetheless. The cream is not sweet at all but it does make it the drink milkier so I would go with a darker chocolate next time.
Delicious! Don't miss this stop, I would highly recommend this cafe. They offer such a unique experience where you can design your own drink, selecting from over a dozen drinking chocolate flavors to compliment espresso or you can have as hot chocolate, or choose from one of their signature drinks. I had the Tanzania dark chocolate as a latte.
Very fancy and very earthy hot chocolate. Definitely not sweet which is good. They use very fancy cacao for their drinks. Caua Cacao also has very elaborate drinks on the menu that look fun. The staff was great and I enjoyed my drink. The place is very Instagrammable especially if you order one of the fancy drinks. I'd recommend giving it a try, I don't know of another place you'd get hot chocolate like this.
Great Chocolate but Unfortunately Not Accessible Caua serves excellent chocolate and the quality of their products is genuinely impressive. It’s a place I would love to enjoy more often. However, the shop is unfortunately not accessible at all, which makes it difficult — and in my case impossible — to visit comfortably. Accessibility is essential, and the lack of step-free entry and adapted facilities means that I have no choice but to rate it poorly, despite the great chocolate. I truly hope they consider improving accessibility in the future, because the product deserves it and it is located in the best street of Barcelona.
