Roots

An unexpected rain shower caused me to seek shelter and popped into the nearest place which happened to be Roots. It's set in a slightly odd building which feels like an auditorium or lecturer's hall from uni that's shared by several pop-up style eat and drink options. Simply ordered a cappuccino which wasn't actually listed on the menu and a sweet pretzel. The pretzel was fine (can't go too wrong with that) and the coffee was well made and presented but a little on the small size and warm (certainly not hot). There were some stools around the coffee bar but I sat in a shared area with low stools which are always an indication to me that they don't want you to linger too long....not unless you're a yoga guru and can hold yourself upright for endless hours. Certainly not disabled friendly having to climb stairs before entering and multi-layered inside. I didn't have any expectation so I can't say I was disappointed but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way to find again. There wasn't anything particularly wrong but there wasn't anything stand out or different. All in all, good to stay out of the rain but won't remember it in a few days.

Classic Roots. Good quality coffee - not cheap but totally fine nowadays. You can get some snacks here or pair your coffee with a delicious focaccia from the place next to Roots.

wow, this cafe has some of the best vibes anywhere in the world! comfy outdoors seating in lush greenery, people getting lit and happy conversations all around, and to top it all off, delicious single origin thai filter coffee! one of the very best.

Amazing! Will return if I’m ever in Thailand. The cookie with the recommendation of review is AMAZING BALLS! I would do another order but I just had lunch. Cheeky barista knew I enjoyed the cookie and shoved me another 2 tiny complimentary cookies which I surrendered and bought a jar of cookies for my mum who is a big fan of chocolate cookies. 🍪 Coffee wise - orange tonic is 5 ⭐️ good for a person like me who don’t consume much coffee Pour over is 5 ⭐️

Visited 17/6/2024 4:40PM Their caramel macchiato is amazing, the coffee is strong and sweet. You can choose either 12 oz or 16 oz size for which there is 10 baht difference. Service is quick and staff is kind. Atmosphere is calm with slow jazzy Murakami-esque music in the background. Reccomended for those residing in Sathorn area and looking for a cozy coffee spot.
