Classic Western & Asian breakfast & brunch dishes served in a humble, old-school restaurant....
Good, simple morning breakfast menu. Long queue. It's one of those places where you've got to try once. Good, but not the queue. The bread is soft and the kaya is mild. Nice. Drinks are not that great though, lacks the punch.
A true Bangkok classic with amazing food On Lok Yun is a wonderful old-school restaurant that gives you a real taste of classic Thai breakfast culture. The food is delicious, comforting, and full of flavor, especially the toast, eggs, and traditional drinks. Everything feels simple but perfectly done. The atmosphere is charming and nostalgic, and the place has a unique local character that makes the experience special. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the service is quick despite the restaurant often being busy. If you want to experience an authentic local spot in Bangkok, On Lok Yun is absolutely worth visiting. A great place for breakfast or a casual meal, and a must try for anyone who enjoys traditional Thai food.
Finally got to try this popular old school style Thai coffee shop. There was a queue when I arrived but with a queue card system and two floors of dining areas I waited for less than half an hour. Moreover the menu was given out by the very friendly staff who was in charge of the queue. He offered me to jump queue over a family of 6 but I had to climb two flights of steps to the second floor. It was worth the effort as my breakfast was totally delicious. I had the steam bread and kaya (which was flavourful not overly sweet) and the scrambled eggs and ham, western and Chinese sausage and bacon. Yummy! The plus point here is tea is provided free and refillable. 💕 This place will be my breakfast place on my next visit to BKK.
01/November/2025 Had coffee & toast here, was good. Long queue cleared relatively fast & well organized. 2 levels of dining area. Wanted to takeaway the kaya (pandan sauce) but decided not to due to 3 days shelf life.
A place that needs no reviews and uses its great quality and yummy food to speak for itself. (Even Smiski approves). Remember to ask for special sauce for your egg + topping meals! Uncle, I love your breakfast 3000!
