SCAM ALERT (Grand Palace area) — Around 09:00 near the left side entrance area (by Navy Wives Association Club), a man claiming to be “off-duty police” said non-Thais can’t enter until afternoon and pushed a tuk-tuk to a jetty for Wat Arun. At the jetty it was not a normal ferry — they tried to sell a “tour” for 1,000 THB per person. Grand Palace was actually open as normal. Don’t believe anyone saying it’s closed or foreigners can’t enter. Go straight to the official ticket gate.
Dirtiest cafe visited in Bangkok (floor, tables and even their work area). Poor management. Slow and unpleasant all male staff at the counter.
The Navy Wives Association Shop near the Grand Palace is a delightful spot to take a break and enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee, this cozy café offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly service. Alongside great coffee and snacks, the shop offers a variety of original Royal Thai Navy goods, from chic and cute designs to more traditional items. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to pick up something special and different from the usual tourist souvenirs. The quality and craftsmanship of the products are exceptional. What makes it even more special is knowing that the shop supports the Navy Wives Association's charitable efforts, so every visit feels meaningful. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee before or after visiting the Grand Palace or a peaceful place to relax, this café is a hidden gem worth discovering. Great coffee, a noble cause, and a serene setting—highly recommended!
Very nice, tasty food!. Super price. Portion sizes perfect. Air conditioned for nice seating and eating. Eat here please. Clean. Portable drinks. Nice Navy souvenir items to buy in same area. Thank you Navy wives. Next door to Royal Thai Navy Club. Come here after visiting the Royal Thai Palace. Great value! Toilets in the back. All income donated to charity!
The Association Shop, doing business as Compass Café, served really good food at an amazingly affordable price - the perfect way to relax after a 90 minute walking tour of the Grand Palace just opposite!
