Fine art photography museum presenting program of temporary, contemporary & historical exhibitions....
Nice exhibitions! Valuable museum, hope Gennez doesn't gut it like she did the MHKA...
Excellent museum with a fab reading library that had lots of books I'd never seen before - I spent more time in the library that some of the exhibits (which were also excellent). Cafe is also really nice.
There are sometimes excellent exhibitions. The museum has a good shop. Tickets can be purchased on-site.
We visited the photo museum for two hours and were quite blown away by the quality and content! Not sure what would meet us, camera or techniques or exhibitions of photos, this is definitely the latter one. There are currently three parts: the permanent exhibit, one on (famously) war photographer Lee Miller and at the top - an amazing live performance about the changes in Iran the last 50 years and its impact on a refugee family. Incorporating storytelling, the visual images, music, traditional instruments with modern looping and effects escalating into an unbearable tornado of emotions, it almost makes the visitor wish to escape as fast as possible. Highly recommend it!
Fomu is always my favourite museum when I visit Antwerp. The exhibitions are clear, inspiring and easy to navigate. The shop is also excellent and the cafe is lovely. Highly recommend!
