Located down Sukhumvit 31, Chu is one of those cafés that feels like a little calm oasis tucked away from the usual bustle of downtown Bangkok. The moment you walk in, you get a relaxed, casual brunch-style vibe — warm wood accents, comfy seating, and a chill soundtrack that makes it a nice spot to linger with coffee, chocolate, or brunch with friends. 🍫 Chocolate & Drinks If you’re coming here for chocolate, you won’t be disappointed. Their hot Tanzanian dark chocolate is rich and smooth with just the right balance of bitter and sweet, and many locals and visitors rave that their hot chocolate is one of the best in town — thick, comforting, and perfectly comforting on an afternoon break. The café also serves brewed coffee and a range of cold drinks, so even if chocolate isn’t your thing you’ve still got solid café choices. 🍽️ Food & Brunch Chu isn’t just desserts — their brunch and breakfast offerings (think pancakes, waffles with chocolate chips and banana, eggs bene, and hearty brunch plates) are popular too and are often a highlight for visitors. Portions are generous, so it works well as a late breakfast or weekend brunch hangout. 🍰 Desserts & Sweets Desserts are a star here. Belgian waffles, chocolate lava cakes, churros with dip, and rich pastries fill the display case and are perfect for sharing if you’re with friends. Chocolate lovers in particular will enjoy the way the café lets the cocoa flavor take center stage without being overly sweet. 🤝 Service & Ambience Most guests describe the service as friendly and efficient, and the café’s vibe is calm enough for a casual catch-up, light working session, or an easy brunch date. Reviews mention it’s a cozy space but can feel a bit busy during peak brunch hours — booking a table or going slightly earlier/later can help. Some visitors note that not everything is perfect (like some desserts leaning sweeter than expected or service being a bit casual), but these tend to be minor gripes in otherwise positive experiences. 💡 Overall Thoughts Overall, Chu is a lovely place if you love good chocolate drinks, comforting brunch food, and dessert-forward menus all wrapped in a cozy, laid-back environment. It’s not the cheapest café in town, but if you’re after quality chocolate and a relaxed brunch, it’s worth a visit.
Some of the best hot chocolates I have ever tasted! Chu is off of the main road down a little side street, therefore it is quiet and calm - a great little escape from the noise of Bangkok. They have a savoury menu as well as hot and cold drinks, sweet treats and their chocolate products. My hot chocolate was 180baht, which is quite pricy for Thailand, but in my opinion, absolutely worth it.
A few parking spaces in front. It’s a house turned into a café. Went there for brunch on a weekday and the place was half full so I expect it will be packed during weekends. Coffee was good you, desserts were okay Love their beef cheeks. Very tender. Very pricey, we ordered one each (for 2 people) of main dish, dessert and coffee. 2,800 baht. Would I come back again? Yes, but on a special occasion rather than a casual one (meaning probably once a year or even less)!! Forgot to take photos (Only took half of what we ordered).
Perfect for gathering and working 💫 It's a large space, cozy and the interior has a warm atmosphere. The staff were very natural and kind. ☕The hot chocolate was delicious.🍶 If you have a lactose intolerance, they offer soy or almond milk options. The rapsberry almond milk hot chocolate was delicious because it wasn't overly sweet. Considering I tried it as someone who doesn't eat chocolate or sweets, I'm writing this from a truly objective perspective. 🎶 The music selection was excellent, with some jazz tunes. 💻 You'll find a lot of remote workers here. 🍜🍲The food was delicious, the presentation was nice, and the portions were generous. ☕Definitely try the cappuccino here; many places serve it like a latte. But this place offers a medium roast and dark roast option. I also recommend trying the dark roast cappuccino. ✨✨I'm not saying this is a "if you ever go there" kind of thing; I'm saying make your way here. You'll enjoy it 💫
I love Chu! Their hot chocolate is one of the best I’ve ever had rich, creamy, and perfectly comforting. The whole place has such a homey and cozy vibe, making it the perfect spot to hang out and chill with your loved ones. Whether you’re there for a lazy brunch, coffee catch-up, or just some quiet time, Chu never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite go-to cafés in Bangkok! ☕🍫
