The local maintenance staff really thinks that I should be up and gone by 10AM. I asked the front desk to stop the lawnmower in front of my house because I want to enjoy the quiet morning. They did stop it and promised to it while I'm gone in the afternoon. Turns out they didn't plan it and the next morning I woke up to a roaring lawnmower engine again. If they want to do landscaping they should plan and not rent out rooms where they plan on doing it. Secondly maintenance is better done in the afternoon when most visitors already checked out or gone for lunch. One day of moving visitors to rooms in other locations will not hurt this half empty resort, but annoying customers WILL! The view from the balcony is the only thing this rundown place offers. The houses have never had any general maintenance on them done. They completely lack standards. Just a made up bed, replaced towels and refilled bottles doesn't cut it! They NEED to clean this place with bleach and abrasives. POWER WASH IT! There's no charm in dirt!
Terrible hotel. If you want sleepless nights, this is the place for you! At 4 a.m., roosters start crowing. On Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., they started mowing the lawn right under our windows — very loud and unpleasant. Why can’t they send the workers at lunchtime, when guests are out traveling? We rented a cottage with a view of the rice terraces. The view is very beautiful, but staying here is impossible!
3* mainly for the pool and great staff! Location is also good. The staff were super kind and we ordered takeaway one night which they delivered to our room with a buggy which was very kind❤️ They also took our luggage to our room for us which was very kind. The pool is beautiful, super peaceful and surrounded by plants. Unfortunately I still wouldn’t recommend this place. The room is a long way from reception (we got a standard room) and even though they say they provide buggy service, it was being charged one night and serviced the next morning, so we had to walk. Not the end of the world but it is quite annoying. We also got woken up before 8am one day as reception called us, and then before 9am housekeeping was repeatedly knocking on our door asking to clean our room. The main issue is the cleanliness. The image attached of the sink is from when I wiped a dry tissue on it😭 and the ceiling was covered in mould. I just didn’t feel clean overall.
This is not a good hotel, and I am very upset. The property is very old and does not match the pictures. The rooms are located 300 meters inside from the reception area During check-out, they tried to trap me into paying additional charges for small things, such as a very dirty bedsheet. I paid IDR 200,000 extra because my flight was delayed, and they held me up until I paid the amount. I was very disappointed. The restaurant service had verv bad behavior, and the pool water was not clean. However, I must sincerely appreciate the reception attendant who checked me in; she guided me very well. This hotel is a waste of money and is not recommended.
🌟 Agung Raka Hotel Review – 6 out of 5 Stars! 🌟 I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews for Agung Raka Hotel. I came here after staying at a more expensive hotel (Sanubari Hotel) that cost twice as much per night. Taking the risk despite the negative reviews was the best decision I made! From the moment I arrived, I was amazed. This is a huge, beautiful hotel where you even need a buggy to get to your room. The views are spectacular, the pools are refreshing, and the atmosphere is relaxing. What really stood out was the staff—they were super friendly, always smiling, and responded right away to my needs through WhatsApp (which worked perfectly fine, even if the room phone wasn’t working). My room was consistently clean, tidy, and safe. The WiFi was strong, the service was warm, and everything felt well taken care of. I even told the organizer of the conference I was attending that this hotel is worth far more than its price. For me, Agung Raka deserves 6 out of 5 stars. 👏 Thank you so much to the wonderful staff—you made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bali! -Dr. Antonio Ramirez
