This became our favourite place in Ubud! In case it seems confusing, you basically point at whatever you want on your plate. They also sell fresh coconuts. They are a great and affordable option for breakfast, since many places don’t open so early. The family who runs it are really nice! Also it is one of the few halal places in the area.
We are simple people who are simple to please This is what we wanted in Ubud and Mr. Gung D. Was very helpful in every way. Much respect for making our 3 star hotel, but 5 star friendly ❤️🙏🏽
Puteri Minang: Padang perfection in Peliatan’s backyard! This little warung is a flavor bomb—authentic Masakan Padang served the classic way: dishes parade to your table until you wave the white flag. The rendang is slow-cooked sorcery: beef so tender it dissolves, coated in a coconut-chili hug that lingers deliciously. Gulai ayam swims in golden gravy, sambal ijo bites just right, and the perkedel? Crispy outside, fluffy within—heaven. Grab the nasi rames and pile on telur balado, paru goreng, and extra kerupuk udang. Wash it down with teh botol or fresh jeruk panas. Locals pack it daily for a reason. Puteri Minang isn’t just lunch—it’s a spicy love letter to Minangkabau cuisine. Already craving round two!
Stopped here at random because I love Masakan Padang. The restaurant was big and clean. The staff were friendly and spoke English. The selection was vast and the food was delicious. I got this plate and an iced tea for 40k. They also have fans for the sweaty foreigners. Highly recommended
So amazing!!! Great taste, great price. Clean shop. The variety was impressive. Flavours galore. We keep coming back for more.
