I recently visited this restaurant, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The food was outstanding — every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into what they serve. The staff was just as impressive. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever feeling intrusive. They made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. Overall, this place is a perfect mix of great food and great people. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends!
A Vegetarian’s and Meat Eater’s Dream Come True in Berawa — You Have to Eat Here! If you’re anywhere near Berawa, drop what you’re doing and come to Koi — right now. This place is next-level delicious — the kind of hidden gem that makes you text your friends mid-bite saying “You have to try this place tonight!” From the moment you step in, the vibe hits — warm smiles, chill Balinese breeze, a clean, modern Japanese aesthetic that’s both inviting and effortlessly cool. The staff treat you like family, and service is perfectly timed — never rushed, never slow. Let’s start with the Avocado Maki — simplicity done to perfection. The creamy avocado practically melts in your mouth, balanced with just the right texture of fresh sushi rice. Then the Vegetable Gyoza Dumplings — delicately steamed to tender perfection, each bite revealing a soft, flavorful center bursting with garden-fresh vegetables and subtle umami depth. Dip them in the house soy-sesame sauce and you’ll literally close your eyes in bliss. But the showstopper? The Avocado Love Roll. A masterpiece of texture and taste — layers of creamy avocado hugging crisp cucumber, wrapped in seaweed and seasoned rice, with a hint of wasabi that dances perfectly on the palate. It’s the kind of roll that makes you fall in love with eating clean, plant-based food all over again. Perfect for vegetarians, sushi lovers, or anyone who just wants food that tastes as good as it makes you feel. If you’re in Canggu or Berawa and haven’t eaten at Koi yet, you’re seriously missing out. Go tonight. Order the Avocado Maki, Gyoza, and Avocado Love Roll.
Calm and authentic atmosphere, nothing like a restaurant chain. The fish quality is superb, extra fresh, and the recipes are creative. The waiters are kind and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. This has become my go-to place whenever I want to eat Japanese. It feels homy and cozy, and to top it all off, the desserts are absolutely exquisite.
We both had the chicken ramen - the broth was one of the best I’ve ever had. The seating is great and you feel like you can sit here all day. The ambiance is great and so are the staff.
I visited this place for the first time and ordered soup and salmon rolls. The soup was not tasty, I couldn't eat it and returned it to the kitchen. Even though it was boiling water, it had undercooked raw white onions floating in it, some green stuff - but not seaweed, it was also not salty - apparently there wasn't enough paste or it wasn't mixed properly. The rolls were ok, but those sides should be cut off and not served to customers. Pretty mediocre food. The staff was very nice. I'm surprised by the good reviews. Please pay attention to the kitchen, you have potential.
