I had the nasi uduk empal (replaced the coconut infused rice with plain steam rice), husband had soto betawi, we both liked our dishes. Staff was very courteous, professional and efficient.
VERY DISAPPOINTING experience!! We ordered Nasi Uduk, but everything arrived cold and lacked any real flavor. The portion of rendang was extremely small, only two pieces, one of which was full of tendons and basically inedible. To make things worse, there was even a piece of cardboard mixed in with the krupuk. For the price they charge for local food, this is simply unacceptable. There are plenty of local warungs that serve far better food at a fraction of the cost.
Kafe Betawi Icon Bali. Only one Indonesian restaurant at this level in Icon Bali mall. Mainly locals here, and a few tourists. Lanterns mounted on the ceiling emit warm yellow light, creating a comfortable experience for diners. Ordered soup buntut (oxtail soup) at 139k, nasi uduk ayam kuning at 63k, laksa betawi at 50k, and mee goreng. Soup buntut was less flavourful (a tad too salty, and meat did not come off easily, remained stuck to the bone) than what I tried in Surabaya. With four drinks, the total cost about 505k for four people.
Very beautiful sop buntut and bihun goreng thank you chef unfortunately for rawon soup and nasi ayam goreng paket need to make it more tasty but you delivered very nice sayur asem , I am very confident that my rawon soup more nicer ( sorry chef hope this critique will build you make a better rawon soup ) and please put some kecambah ( bean sprouts ) Hope waiting period for food can be shorter but you have very friendly staff and skilled with marketing and try to do upselling all the menu to us ( well done to all staff - management needs to look after your front line of your business) Presentations of the menu is nailed it especially for anything with soup you put in under the small fire to keep it hot. Thank you
My dining experience at Kafe Betawi was hit-and-miss, primarily due to issues with preparation and serving temperature. The Betawi Soto was disappointing because it arrived lukewarm instead of piping hot, requiring me to ask for a separate hot pot to reheat it. The Betawi Asinan was also underwhelming; it tasted like it came straight from the fridge, lacking the necessary fresh, crisp texture. The saving grace was the Betawi Laksa. I liked it—the thick, spiced broth was well-balanced and genuinely good.
