The place is cute, in a really accessible area, run by super kind people, but the coffee wasn't brilliant. By no means terrible (that honour goes to Excelso!), but it could have been hotter and a bit punchier. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area, but I did let you know the coffee isn't the draw card.
1st: ambiance of coffee shop. Just like a street coffee shop: small space, no aircon, free smooking. It is in the same space together with the shop (souvenir) that mostly sell coffee, chocolate, tea (?) 2nd: service - for coffeeshop: hey bli that stand behind the espresso machine. You can share ur smile a bit and give the explanation clearly to the guest who ask you about your beans or ur menu. But their casheer give the good service. - for the souvenir soup: nice service, nice person with clear explanation. From him I know the difference about red (Bali origin) and black label (mix) of arabica beans. He explain me about the 3 grade of their robusta ground coffee (pure coffee or mix with corn and/or others). I think I will try to enjoy a cup of cappucino or Bali coffee here if I have time again in Denpasar. Just ignore the one behind the machine.
Initially, I mistook this place for a standard kopitiam, but it is actually a store for a legendary Balinese coffee brand. They don't just sell coffee beans; they also serve delicious brewed coffee. The sellers are friendly and knowledgeable, providing great assistance in selecting beans. The only drawback is the seating: there are very few tables if you wish to drink your coffee on-site
I finally had the chance to try a hot cappuccino from the iconic coffee shop on the island of a thousand temples. It's the only coffee shop in the heart of Bali's capital. It was quite delicious and warming on a rainy day. They also offer a variety of traditional cakes at very affordable prices. The service was friendly and fast. I'll definitely be back))
Bhineka Djaja is a legendary coffee shop that has been established since 1935 along with other legendary-shophouses located on Gajah Mada St. in the center of Denpasar City the capital of Bali. This coffee shop, which is famous for its coffee labeled Kupu-Kupu Bola Dunia, provides single origin coffee from across the region of Indonesian archipelago, especially Bali namely Pupuan & Kintamani, while others such as Mandailing - North Sumatra and Toraja - Sulawesi, as well as its houseblend products difference by its coffee concentration range of light, medium, dark. All Kopi Kupu-Kupu Bola Dunia are available at Kopi Bhineka Djaja and several of its branches to be brewed on the spot or taken away in the form of packaged products. The moment of enjoying a cup of old-style coffee amidst of the bustling city of Denpasar that is contrary to the peaceful image of the Island of the Gods instead will be unforgetable experience for us when traveling in Bali.
