The place has a relaxed, chill atmosphere with great indie music playing in the background. It’s perfect for a quick bite or light snacks. The BBQ pork belly bao — their bestseller — was absolutely amazing and a must-try!
Do you enjoy bland, burned potato skins with uncooked insides paired with overpriced bao buns? Then look no further! I ordered the Thess Bao Burger and the Pulled Pork Honey Beer Bun, and it was a complete disaster. The burger was soggy, tasted industrial, and was far from homemade. The €5 fries were the worst part—burned skins, uncooked insides, and not a grain of salt. The pulled pork was overly sweet and barely passable. All of this, plus two lukewarm soft drinks, set me back €20. This is a far cry from 'fine' street food. Save your money and avoid this place!
Excellent food, great atmosphere and courteous staff ❤️❤️❤️ We visited Thess Bao on our three day visit to Athens and were craving good burger and fries. Their reviews were phenomenal we we decided to check it out while strolling the markets near Plaka. And the experience absolutely lived up to it reviews. Their crushed potatoes were quite hyped online and surely are exceptional, unique and delicious. Burger is huge (with tried their crispy chicken one) with two perfectly golden browned pieces seasoned in sauces deliciously. A must visit if you are looking for a chic yet family like spot to enjoy your meal. They have plenty of indoor and patio seating. If you found this review helpful please like it 👍 Thanks 🙏
Fresh and tasty. The fries are excellent and have really good flavour options and toppings. The bao is fresh and the chicken was juicy and crispy. The toppings and sauces were really nice. Would certainly go back. The place is large and the staff friendly too. Returned again which I don’t normally do but wanted to try the Thess Bao burger which was delicious! Very large patty!
The new arrival in the centre of Athens (originating from Thessaloniki) is here to take your mind. Fresh bao buns in a variety of delicious and original flavours. Mandatory stop during a walk in the city centre.
