If you are looking for authentic Greek comfort food in Athens, look for On The Road beside the Novotel Athenes. ππ₯ βWe ordered a feast: pork & chicken skewers, sausage, and their famous Pastitsio. My wife loved the fresh orange juice and my daughter enjoyed her mixed juice. Everything was fresh and flavourful, but the Pastitsio was the highlight of the tripβcreamy, rich, and perfect. βService was 10/10 thanks to Bianca, who was so warm and welcoming (she really taught us how to eat like locals!). Capped it all off with a nice shot of mastikha. A perfect Greek evening for my little family. Yamas! π₯π¬π·
This nice cozy spot near my hotel was a gem. The two food items I had here were delicious. For starters, I was served Grissini Breadsticks with an olive based dip called Kalamata Olive Tapenade. I ate that very fast as it was good. Then I had Chicken Souvlaki. This food item was well made and tasted very good. On the Road hit the spot!
This place comes highly recommended. During my stay, I enjoyed delicious food and drinks here in the morning, afternoon, and evening. For breakfast, I had a Greek omelet with local feta cheese, which is perfect for starting the day. For lunch, I had pastitsio, a homemade dish that is truly outstanding. I also got some tasty tapas with it. In the evening, you can also get a delicious Neapolitan pizza here, which is also prepared locally. In addition to delicious food, the (alcoholic) beverages selection is also formidable. The alcoholic beverages include a choice of local Greek drinks and beers (on tap) and a nice selection of foreign drinks. All this at a very reasonable price. Finally, the excellent service deserves a mention. The waitress did her utmost to serve us appropriately, and you can confidently follow her menu recommendations. In addition, her language skills are very good and she always does her best to serve everyone with a big smile
The waitress speaks good English and very attentive. The pizza from the cross the street ( family owns) were around 14 euros each were good. Meat skewers were all comes with pita bread and yummy. Draft beer 5 euros was served with some nibbles. Unfortunately Every time we visited, there were no salads/no spaghetti and no Moussakaβ¦.
We stopped by after a long day, the waitress was very friendly, we got starter - sticks with olive paste and even limoncello shots in the end. Pizzas were large enough and delicious. We also found out that they bring you the pizza from the place on the other side of the street - Pizza napoletana - its a family business. So if you want just take away pizza - go just directly there.
