Talk about excellent service and a kind heart. Demis was outstanding. Our father had just died and we needed a car to get up to Chalkida. Demis has a very funny personality and he was full of compassion too

Brilliant company, they even helped us to upside the car for our luggage. Really reasonable prices, no messing around d on pick up or return. Clear no nonsense policies helped us to make this a really e joyable experience. Great car, excellent on fuel took us to lefkada and back via delphi. A great experience all round. Thank you. If we come back to Athens we will use you again. 5* from this UK customer.

Update 22.07.2025 To my surprise, the company did issue a full refund, and I received the amount back to my bank account within three business days, exactly as promised by the very helpful staff member at the desk. I sincerely appreciate this level of follow through. That said, the fact remains: the €300 deposit requirement is still not communicated anywhere during the booking process. If this changes, either by clearly stating it upfront or offering flexible options for customers, I would certainly consider using their services in the future. For now, I hope Modi Rent a Car takes this feedback seriously and updates their policies to reflect transparency and professionalism. For that I am changing the review to 3 stars ————————— I recently made a same-day reservation for a 3-day car rental through Modi Rent a Car’s official website. The booking process was simple and efficient, and I received a prompt call from their office to confirm the reservation and arrange pickup. However, upon arriving at their location (even earlier than the scheduled time), I was informed that a €300 security deposit was required in order to proceed with the rental. This came as a complete surprise, as there was no mention whatsoever of such a deposit during the booking process — neither on the website, nor in the booking confirmation email. While the staff member at the desk was polite and helpful, she openly admitted that the deposit requirement is not shown anywhere during booking, but stated that it is still company policy and cannot be waived. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. As a result, I immediately requested to cancel my reservation. I had already paid €18 during the online booking, and although I was told it would be refunded since I booked directly through their website, I do not expect to receive it — and frankly, I’m not concerned about the amount. What matters is the lack of clear communication and professional standards. As a business professional, I expect straightforward pricing, clear terms, and a reliable customer experience. Unfortunately, Modi Rent a Car failed on all three fronts. Thankfully, there are numerous other rental companies in the area, and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend Modi Rent a Car unless they take immediate steps to clearly state all charges and deposit requirements upfront, where customers can see them before committing to a reservation.

An exceptional rental experience with Demis and Modi Rent in Athens. Great price, responsive service, super central for collection and a first choice option for longer road trips and ferry-crossings. Would highly recommend!

I was served by Chris when we reached the company offices, he was polite, professional and very helpful. He explained everything clearly and ensured that all of our questions were answered. The vehicle was as described and any marks etc were duly recorded by Chris. He even went so far as to give me his personal number in case we encountered any problems whilst in Greece. Truly Amazing service and I would highly recommend this company. Thank you Chris, we wish you all the best!!
