We stayed at a 2-bedroom luxury apartment rental at 36 Orfeos and the property managers of Iris Greece Penthouse (BTW, a great apartment rental) recommended this restaurant as a great choice that was close by. We were amazed to see such a huge variety on the menu (best analogy would be Cheesecake Factory) and so many were "best in class for taste". We had brunch here on a few occasions before going to see the sites. Most interesting (and my favorite) was their Greek bao buns (fushion of Chinese buns with Greek tastes as filling). Of all of the greek salads we had they had the best. And I really liked their vegetarian omellete. And as we there only for brunch we had fresh squeezed orange juice (the best). Their portion sizes were big (again, similar to Cheescake Factory). The restaurant is very well designed and unique and feels so comfortable. I see some comments about slow service and I can say on one occasion it was "slowish" (as only one waiter and one waiter assistant) but it was not annoying slow (and both guys were working hard so appreciated that). I would say it is the second best causal restaurant we have ever been to (after Sugo in Rome). I would put Sugo as a "factor" in wanting to go back to Rome (though Aroma, now a Michelin 1 Star, would be a bigger factor - but then Aroma is fine dining with insane views of the Colosseum whereas for a causal restaurant to be any factor it would have to be extremely exceptional. Cartone as a consideration says a lot about this place.
The waiters were very polite and friendly, and the service overall was nice. However, the girl at the reception, although she initially gave us a good table, later came and told us that we could only stay until 10:00 because there was a reservation — and it was already 8:45. We went there for dinner, so it was disappointing to feel rushed. She also kept asking politely if we had finished, which made it clear she wanted us to leave. It felt uncomfortable even though she was being polite.
Great atmosphere, very fun cardboard decor inside ! the service really depends on who your waiter will be some are very quick some are a bit less but overall they are good. The coffee is good, lots of brunch options as well for every taste. The outdoor siting has fans and an outdoor AC.
Had breakfast here on my last day in Athens. The food was pretty good. My kids had crepes which were a little thicker than they're used to but still pretty good. The veggie omelet was phenomenal and I love that it is served with fresh greens. The staff is very friendly . Also I appreciate that the juice is always fresh, orange juice is like a whole orange in a cup.
The people are friendly, but they are not in a hurry to serve. The atmosphere is nice, half of the tables sit next to the park. The food: the stroganoff and dinner salad were delicious. Breakfast is a mixed bag. The scrambled bun was filling and tasty. The Energy Bowl was a great way to start the day. The crepes we are not too sure about. We ordered a strawberry crepe, and we received a crepe with freshly sliced strawberries. We thought the crepe would have a whipped cream or cheese filling with it, but it did not. Think of it as a strawberry burrito.
