Cachou

We made 2025 Christmas eve dinner reservations, for 10, and we were not disappointed. The food was incredible, chef-prepared and absolutely delicious. The appetizers, soup and salad were part of a package and we each got to pick one of these dinner options: 1) kotsi (pork shank) slow braised served with baby potatoes, dry plums and chestnuts, 2) turkey with mashed sweet potatoes and 3) a 3 meat combo to include lamb, pork and beef. A live band played a nice variety of US oldies and Greek traditional songs. The music was not overly loud creating a mellow, cozy environment. Cachou is now one of my top 5 places in this part of Athens. Definitely coming back!

The food is absolutely incredible. Simple, soulful and packed with flavour. We loved every bite. The owners were wonderful people and we felt very welcomed and comfortable in their beautiful, cosy place. If you go to visit Athens GO HERE!!

This place was absolutely phenomenal. The staff (shoutout V!) and the chef were wonderful and so kind, and the food was some of the best we had over our 10 day trip. The chef Dimitrius is so insanely talented and everything he made for us was SO good and so fresh, you can tell he puts so much thought and love into his recipes. The restaurant itself is very cozy and decorated in a very intentional and unique way with one of a kind pieces inside, but has a huge back area if you prefer to dine outside. We were in Athens for 4 full days and had dinner here 3 times! We really found a home here and kept coming back, I would eat here every day if I could. This felt like a real neighborhood spot, I can’t recommend this place enough! Prices were super reasonable and the friendly cat Constantina is an adorable plus. If you are nearby, GO EAT HERE! You won’t regret it.

We had a beautiful meal here! Food was delicious and fresh. Atmosphere was top notch, the building and the live music. Service was attentive, kind and inviting. Highly recommend.

Tonight is our last night in Greece. Sad, yes, but we ended our three week trip here with a superb meal at Cachou. The experience began with a warm welcome. While they offer outdoor dining, we decided to eat inside in a charming area with stone walls, exceptionally comfortable chairs and tables, and a fireplace right out of a Melina Mercouri movie. Please see the attached pictures. The food was amazing! We met the chef, Demetrios, who is talented and passionate about his food. The pictures of his dishes speak for themselves! Given the exceptional level of service and amazing quality of the dishes served, Cachou is an incredible value.
