Refined rooms & suites in a posh hotel offering Acropolis views, plus a restaurant & a bar....
We spent 5 days at the NJV Athens Plaza. We had a lovely room overlooking the Acropolis. It was a great stay and every morning we woke up to an amazing breakfast. The provided complimentary macaroons and a lovely heart shaped dessert for our anniversary. There was remodeling going on in the room next door and because of my husbands need to rest in the afternoons due to his surgery, the hotel staff (Nico) went above and beyond and changed our room to accommodate our needs. Everything was perfect. The view of the Acropolis from our new room which was a junior suite was even more incredible! We had dinner at the Explorer bar one evening- though extremely quiet the food was great. Overall great trip to Athens! We will definitely stay here again!
I had a great stay at the NJV Athens Plaza! The room was super clean and very nice and comfortable. The views couldn’t have been better as well as the service. I got a massage and it was a great experience also!
Great hotel, right at the center of Athens! Spacious, clean and quiet rooms, very polite and professional staff! Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Nice public areas and a lovely bar called Explorer, just above the lobby area. Highly recommended!!
Very disappointing – not worthy of 5 stars Our stay at NJV Athens Plaza was a major disappointment. Aside from the central location, this hotel is far from five-star standards. The property is old, noisy, and poorly maintained. It sits on a busy main intersection with constant traffic and horns. Rooms are outdated, not modern, and badly insulated — you can hear door slamming and conversations from neighboring rooms. The mattresses are extremely old and sunken, making sleep uncomfortable. Glass panels in the room and bathroom rattle loudly, faucets are loose, and overall maintenance feels neglected. Breakfast was exactly the same every day, with very limited variety. Service was slow and inefficient — I had to ask several times for coffee each morning, often receiving it only after finishing my meal. Elevators are very small, barely fitting two people with suitcases. Balconies are unattractive and not inviting at all. Staff were polite but nothing more than basic. Late checkout until 14:00 was granted, which is appreciated. However, lobby prices are excessive (€5.50 for a small soda, €8 for a latte), completely unjustified for the quality offered. Conclusion: This hotel does not deserve a 5-star rating. Athens has many far better options. I do not recommend staying here.
Stayed twice since we were going to a conference in meteora. They kept one of our bags so that’s a plus. So when we returned for 3 nights, I felt that the front desk was a bit dismissive the 2nd time. I chose this hotel for the good reviews of great service but I didn’t feel that and felt a bit discriminated as an asian. One good thing is they gave us late check out which could have been a great ending, but when we checked out and will have late lunch we wanted to order some drinks and dessert, and the gyros my sister brought to us/ the lady there told us we can’t so we went the lounge on the 2nd floor which was empty save for 2 people who was just meeting there. She asked us to eat outside the hotel even though we were already eating. It was really disappointing. As a hotel guest she could have given a bit more courtesy. The bathroom’s fixture was falling apart. I like their Korres amenities but no other items like toothbrush etc. so it doesn’t feel luxurious at all. Location is the best though.
