Stopped here for breakfast and received a typically warm Amsterdam welcome. The service was very friendly and, as ever, in perfect English (We'll never learn any Dutch on this trip). The food was delicious with generous portions giving excellent value for money. We've been really lucky on this trip finding places the locals frequent and this was another of those.

Loved it! The place has a great style and vibe. We ordered steak and frites + fresh (actually fresh) orange juice and it was delicious ❤. We'll definitely come back

tl;dr: inviting. Tasty breakfast. No cash 😍 Dropped by for breakfast before leaving Amsterdam to go back home. As someone who lives in Germany, I can't help but grin at places here with "cards only" signs, and hope it can somehow gain traction back home. I looked at the menu online before coming, since I was worried about my flight time, and ordered my vascobelo breakfast pretty much as soon as I sat down. It was pretty good, but the highlights for me were the jam and the cheese. Coffee and orange juice (fresh) were also pretty nice. Service was as expected in the Netherlands: smiley and efficient. At 18 euros (for the vascobelo breakfast) , I feel that I got good value for my money here. Very pleasant experience.

I went there for Sunday brunch after reading some positive reviews here. I left feeling quite disappointed. The menu looked good with a varied selection of teas and coffees. The breakfast, lunch and drinks items looked good too, albeit pricey - €7 for a glass of cava(!). I ordered the Poke Bowl but 30 minutes later (!!), the friendly waitress returned to apologize and say that it wasn't available as the kitchen had run out of rice. I thought that was quite bizarre as: 1. did it have to take so long to tell me that?; and 2. there are two supermarkets within a 50 meter radius (a kitchen staff could've bought the rice in a few minutes). I ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The food arrived almost an hour after I first sat down and was (thankfully) good; tasty salmon and eggs in a decent portion. The food and service were good overall but I have my doubts about the value for money factor.
