Weekday mornings are the quietest
Nice location, especially with the sun, however the lemonade tasted way to sweet and not like a lemonade should taste. Service was quite mid. I ordered but my order didn’t arrive and I had to pick up the order myself. Can recommend to people who are not interested in the best option!
Participated in the course “Beïnvloeden, overtuigen en verleiden” and would not recommend it to anyone. Things that could be improved are: 1. The classroom Was too hot in the morning, too cold in the afternoon and chairs are very uncomfortable. Because of the sunlight it’s hard to read from the screen and the speakers were old so it was hard to listen to the videos since the sound was such low quality. 2. The theory / information All videos that were shown are at least 10 years old. Examples felt outdated and irrelevant. There were no practical tips & tricks included in the entire course. Aristotle’s theory on rhetoric is interesting but it’s also common knowledge to anyone in a commercial role or sector. 3. Listening vs. Talking I understand that you want people to participate in a training and be proactive but having to listen to the rest of the group more than to the teacher who’s expertise I’d like to learn from is quite tiring.
The atmosphere is nice, staff is friendly but the coffee just doesn’t taste very good. It’s a fine place to crash when you’re on your way and needed a quick bite and a coffee but I wouldn’t take a detour to come here.
I’m a big fan of the school of life, their books and publications in general. However, I find this particular place lacking in few points, that makes my visits pleasant. First, the seating is quite uncomfortable and unpractical, especially for someone who come with a laptop to work. The bar seating has high chairs and a lower table, making it painful for the back. Also, the communal table is so low and it gets crowded. The other point is the food. I got the Lavender lemonade and it was horrible. It didn’t taste anything like lavender. It felts like sipping on sparkling sugary water. The lemon cake was dry and has little lemon flavor.
Great place for a coffee! Great selection of books and stuff produced by the School of Life. They do regular classes and workshops here on philosophy and life. Really cool spot! The main room is no laptops, but there is a workshop room where you can work away to your heart's content.
