Weekday mornings are the quietest
Amazing site, good, clean, well looked after bathrooms. We arrived late, I phone intercomed reception and spoke to Bianka, she sorted us out straight away and told us we can sort out the details the next morning. Thank you for your friendly smile and hospitality Bianka!! The South African and two English chaps!
The only camping with dragon eggs! Necessary to try them! Nice campsite otherwise, clean toilets, good showers and friendly service. Hoenderloo is nearby and plenty of great forest and heather. Ideal for s couple of days. Open air swimming pool next to your dragon egg. No need to carry a tent, just a sleeping bag. Perfect for hiking or biking holidays.
Pro: nicely situated, lots of space between the tents on the camping site, multiple wash/toilet houses, good sized swimming pool with slide and separate pool for small kids, several small playgrounds and one larger underground playground. Con: too expensive! we ended up in one of the "dragon eggs" due to the bad weather and the reception's unwillingness to cancel our reservation. These eggs are less than 4 square meter (with one odd shaped bed, a small bench, light and electricity), have one round window which cannot be opened, no mosquito net for the door, and still cost you 70 EUR per night! You can find much more pleasant places to sleep for that price! Also the fact that warm water in the shower switched off after 5 minutes was not pleasant.
Cool room. But besides a bed and a small bench..you have not much else. They state it is fit for 2 adults and 2 small children. .make that 1 child..otherwise it is really small. Animation crew is well organised and makes a stay for kids great.
We visited with a caravan. The parking spaces are nice and large with running water and electricity. All necessary amenities are provided and quite well maintained. The campsite is definitely aimed at families with young children. For this reason the available pool is very shallow and it is not the quietest of campsites. A car or bike is necessary for visiting the surrounding tourist attractions. Pricing is very reasonable. Caravan with 5 people and a dog is 40€ per night.
