Pension Homeland

Lovely little hotel, great position in a quiet corner near the maritime museum, close to the train station and the center but away from the noise. Used to be navy officers' quarters, so pretty Spartan in amenities, but clean and pleasant, and a lovely dining/breakfast room. Prices are also reasonable, so it's often fully booked. Restaurant has good quality seasonable fare, prepared carefully and with enough imagination. Recommended.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very conveniently located a short walk from Amsterdam Centraal. Staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was fantastic for both breakfast and dinner as were the beers in the bar.

I've stayed two days for a business-trip. The location directly at the harbour is very nice and still very calm and quite. The build-in restaurant, we've had breakfast and dinner in, is very lovely and I'd recommend it without hesitation. We were surprised by and very much enjoyed the african music evening with the live-band, which is a monthly event in the bar-area. Please don't stop it. The room was comfy and the personnel always friendly and helpful. It's a history-rich Pension with a lot of heart and warmth you can really feel. I would gladly come back and can only recommend it!

The hotel was really clean, calm and the restaurant food is great. What a shame they keep that nasty person on the front desk despite de complaints on these platforms, when I did my checkout he screamed at me out of nowhere. Nasty person, I wouldn’t go back just because I already saw there are more reviews here and other platforms that complained about the same person and this place tolerates that awful behaviour.

I had an exceptional stay at pension homeland. The history of the hotel and its fun quirks are awesome. Restaurant was good for a quick snack and a coffee. Loved the staff and overall enjoyed!
