Warm restaurant serving locally sourced breakfast & brunch dishes, plus coffee & American pastries....
Creme Brulee French toast was absolutely delicious! We would 100% recommend. The restaurant was busy inside, you could queue for a seat indoors, but as there was space outside we opted to eat outdoors as the day was fine. Staff are lovely and friendly.
Visited here in December 2025 during a city break to Amsterdam with my boyfriend. It's definitely worth a visit though I would say it's expensive for a breakfast/brunch venue (though this is not exclusive to Mortimer, I would say Amsterdam is probably the most expensive European city I've been to so far including London & Paris). I had the avocado and poached egg on toast which was delicious a hot chocolate and some fruit, it was all very good. My partner had scrambled eggs on toast which were very nice also. Staff very friendly too, so I would recommend a visit to Mortimer.
I had a great experience at Mortimer! The breakfast was delicious and fresh, the coffee excellent, and the atmosphere warm and cozy. The owner was very welcoming, which made the visit even better. I’ll definitely be back—highly recommended! ♥️
Mortimer became our go-to breakfast spot simply because it was just a short walk from our hotel—and honestly, we kept coming back because it was that good. The food tasted amazing, the kind of breakfast that instantly puts you in a better mood. And the drinks? The coffee was solid, but the hot chocolate was the real comfort hit—warm, cozy, and exactly what you want in the morning. The place itself is also a vibe: comfortable, cute, and aesthetic without trying too hard. If you’re staying nearby, Mortimer is an easy yes for breakfast (and a slow, feel-good start to the day).
Popular place for a brunch. I was lucky enough to find a spot. Usually you must wait a long queue. The brunch/breakfast menu is extensive, with many options to choose from. We ordered the Mortimer's eggs, and they were delicious. The house salsa is tasty. The coffee is good. A delightful place for brunch, although the establishment is very small.
